U.S. Youth Futsal NYS Futsal I.D. Trial in Massapequa

Announced late yesterday, so today we just had to touch base with Keith Tozer, Commissioiner of the PFl and player/coach at the last team I worked for, the Louisville Thunder and was given the inside scoop. Over the next half hour we had some more details related to us. As stated, the U.S. Youth Futsal NYS Futsal I.D. Trials for boys and girls born in the years 2000-'07 will be held June 1, 2 & 3 @ Elite Sports Factory, 5600 Old Sunrise Highway, Massapequa NY 11758. Tozer will also instruct a U.S. Youth Futsal Level III Coaches Course May 30-June 1 prior to the NY State I.D.

We already put up some images and interviews on our Facebook page from early in the game. Seems as if they have already found midseason form with Robles getting yet another clean sheet and Jesse Marsch stating at the press conference that after every 4th one they get a pizza a beer post game, the locker room had no pizza when I arrived. THe defense on this day would also help the offense as Long Islander Tim Parker got his first assist as a Red Bull, when BWP put the ball in all he did was point back to Tim acknowledging the help.

NC Courage has 3 selected for USWNT v Mexico

Long Islander Crystal Dunn, Abby Dahlkemper and Lynn Williams have all been called into camp for the April games as part of the USWNT prelim. roster, Samantha Mewis with a short term knee injury is out. A few players will be dropped for the final roster by HC Jill Ellis. These game may serve as a sneak peak of a game in the CONCACAF World Cup tourney this fall as each are ramping up for this as it will send 3 nations on to the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France, with the 4th place meeting the 3rd place team out of South America for a 2 game play in. 

NCFC is off on to a Derby, the Kentucky Derby host city

NCFC is off to the home of my last pro team Louisville for a game with the USL title holders on Mar. 24 @ 3p.m., see it on You Tube and NorthCarolinaFC.com/Watch. This first ever meeting won't be easy for the visitors, as Lou City have won 8 in a row and 12 of their last 14, 2-0 in this year's opener with Nashville SC. NCFC needs a win this year, with the vets and first year players holding much promise. Leading goal getter of 2017 is back with NCFC and Steven MIller and he struck v Tampa last weekend.

A player injured in the SheBelieves Cup has been replaced in Mexico games

Hallie Mace had replaced backline player Casey Short due to her ankle injury. The UCLA senior will be at the Apr. 5 game in FL, see it at 7 p.m. ET on FS1 and Apr. 8 in Houston on FOX at 12:30 CT on FOX. Hurt in the 2nd game v France @ Red Bull Arena, her training with the Red Stars was going well until tweaking, it forcing her out for the friendlies. Mace out of CA, was in the U-23 camp of late and now has her 2nd call up to the full national team with the first being before the most recent SheBelieves Cup though not chosen for the ultimate roster.

NC Courage fill the Roster

With less than 24 hours to go first round pick, #10 overall Frannie Crouse and trialist Kaleigh Kurtz. Crouse out of Penn State with 37 goals and 17 assists over 92 games, a selection to the 2016 All-Big Ten first team and the 2015 College Cup All-tournament team she has a great future. Her last year saw her get 20 games netting 4 goals and 5 assists with 16 starts. Corus informs "It definitely feels great ". Kurtz out of neighboring SC and with Ostersunds SFF of Sweden last year turned heads as an invitee, she played college ball with fellow Courage player, GK Sabrina D'Angelo.

NYRB II has a new player

Netminder, Scott Levene has joined the USL team after his career at UCONN with 70 straight starts and 29 shutouts. The native Huskie passed Union backstop Andre Blake for the 2nd longest # of straight starts in team history. HC John Wolyniec stated " We're happy to welcome Scott to the club". A past member of the USNT at the U-14/15 level Levane said "I 'm very excited to sign my first professional contract".
