Nagbe who was knocked around a goood bit during the game has a low grade hamstring stain as Steffen tweaked his long term right hamstring  that first reared its head facing Colombia in Oct. with the USMNT.  A familar name, Klinsmann has come in,  Jonathan from Hertha Berlin getting the roster up to 27 for the game on Thursday.

Sporting KC hosts Real Salt Lake

By Sean McCaffery, November 11, 2018

SKC & RSL in the battle of the monograms, see it at 2 p.m. CT on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, WatchESPN, ESPN 94.5 & ESPN Deportes KC, never knew ESPN had so many outlets for KC. A tale of 2 local coaches, Long Island has Mike Petke, as NJ has Peter Vermes, both arrived at their current locations in totally different manners. Petke jettisoned from the NYRB, although it has worked out for the team, I still disagree with it, he has more than landed on his feet so great for him. Peter Vermes from the field to the bench and now also upstairs as he wears a number of hats for the team.

This is the first time since September 5, 1971 that an Atlanta team beats a NY Club in a playoff match, when Atlanta Chiefs defeated NY Cosmos 2:0 in second-leg of NASL Semifinals at Hofstra Stadium.

US 13 US Virgin Islands 0 in Concacaf U-20 Championship

By Sean McCaffery, November 4, 2018

No, a field goal was not missed, but 40 shots did, this was the score. In comparison, the full USMNT suffered its greatest defeat in the World Cup back in 1934 at the hands of Italy 7-1 while overall it is in 1948 when they lost to Norway, 11-0. A goal scored just less than every 7 minutes, with 55 shots is I feel, a bit excessive and a horrible ratio to boot. Although 3 subs were used, I wonder how the international soccer community will take this, in coming games should the USMNT have a game where they are not doing so well, might the opposition pour it on as a result of this.

NYRB & Crew Sunday Leg 1 Conf. Semis

By Sean McCaffery, November 2, 2018

Going in, the Crew lead this series, 32-31-11 at MAPFREE, the Crew dominate by far, 20-12-6. Looking to even it up Sunday, then taking the overall lead are the NYRB, Supporters Shield winners, most points EVER and many other accolades earned this 2018 season. Having almost twice the win total as their opponent, the 14-11-9 Crew would have one think it is quite the mismatch. See how it plays out Sunday at 3p.m. On ESPN, ESPN Deportes & NYRB Radio with Spanish coverage on TuneIn.
