ATL UTD over RED BULLS 3-0 in Conference Championship

By Sean McCaffery, November 26, 2018

Before 70,000 5 stripe fans, ATL UTD did not disappoint as they had in EVERY one of their previous meeting as NYRB won those. NY played a different, laid back style, not the ever pressing one that got them to this point. One key, missing piece, Taxi, Kemar Lawrence was missing but he is one of 10 on field players so missing 10% was not the full answer. For two of the goals there was not much to do about, a pass played in from the other side of the field that was as the announcer decscribed as "inch perfect" was just that, had it been played anywhere else this opening goal does not happen.

By Sean McCaffery, November 22, 2018

A local product who came up through the NYRB system, Tyler is now getting both national and international acclaim. The selection process has begun by way of voting and will continue until Dec. 3 @ 11:59 p.m. ET. At 19 he would be the 2nd youngest honoree as Christain Pulisic was awarded it at 18 in 2017. A year now since his first selection to the USMNT, as Adams had his first goal on Sept. 11 after interviewing with us just days before facing Mexico in a 2-0 victory. 2018 closes out with the World Cup for the U-17 USWNT in the World Cup

By Sean McCaffery, November 22, 2018

A win over Cameroon was the highlight of this trip to Uruguay for the young ladies in red White & Blue as the same fate met them last night as it did in facing a strong Korean side, a loss. Although the Germans were spotted a goal early at 4', on a dfk, the reply to this was very strong.  If not for some great work by the German 'keeper and disappointing finishing on behalf of the US they would have taken a first half lead by a few.

By Sean McCaffery, November 22, 2018

Again Tab Ramos has brought home the hardware by way of yet another shutout against a stronger opponent than the day before with one more goal. A very tight game, similar to the one facing Honduras but facing a better team with worse blood in the Mexican team, the USA did well in holding the lead, bouyed big time by the stellar play of GK, Brady Scott who stood on his head and it was rewarded with the Golden Glove award.

US Soccer Player of the Year Nominees are out

By Sean McCaffery, November 20, 2018

It was well done by US Soccer to list the female nominees first as they had an undefeated year and far more successes over the 2018 season.

So as it should be, ladies first, the nominees all from the USWNT are Julie Ertz, Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan, Alex Morgan & Megan Rapione. Despite the girlfriend of Megan being from Syosset and a very accomplished youth player in her day, I am going with Alex Morgan. A synopsis of each nominee and their year.
