Today, USC revealed the 2018 Regional Staff of the Year for NCAA DI,II & III. As there are fully 2 dozen chosen, listed are the locals and more prominent coaches selected for such a prestigous honor. All will be feted during the USC convention in Jan. All will also be on the USC ballot for National Staff of the Year per division along with staffs that advance to the semis of their NCAA Championship. The voting opens today, closes on Dec 14.

Those to receive the 2018 Long-Term Service awards for youth, high school and college soccer from the United Soccer Coaches are now known, these are given each year to members who have shown a career of giving at their respective levels of the game while continuing a high level of service to the association. Jan. 11 @ their annual convention, the awards are being bestowed upon these three.
readSt. John's University who this season had no less than 3 alums playing internationally and saw Rachel Daly named her team MVP with the Houston Dash, will host the First Round of the tourney. Kicking off at 1 p.m. from Belson Stadium will be home to the games. St. John's has the opening game facing Providence College.
readMike was an AAD at Duke for 3 decades, heading 27 teams, all the while involved with raising well over 100 million dollars. Now he is here, in Queens, the Men's Baskeball team took time out of training to attend, Men's Soccer coach and AAD Dr David Masur was in attendance as was his counterpart, Women's coach Ian Stone and some of his staff. Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration and quite the soccer player himself, John Diffley was also at the conferencce.
readTwo young women I knew from Long Island were tragically lost in a DWI accident along with another of their friends, a huge loss for Massapequa, their families, freinds, local soccer, etc. In the wake of this horrific loss, the scholarship was generously established. This lucky and well deserving young woman, Stephanie Radakovic has been awarded this year is out of the Smithtown Hotspur of LIJSL, they took a State Open Cup title in 2016. This young women is now recovering from a car accident of her own in which she broke her ankle in 2 places.
