NCFC is off on to a Derby, the Kentucky Derby host city

NCFC is off to the home of my last pro team Louisville for a game with the USL title holders on Mar. 24 @ 3p.m., see it on You Tube and NorthCarolinaFC.com/Watch. This first ever meeting won't be easy for the visitors, as Lou City have won 8 in a row and 12 of their last 14, 2-0 in this year's opener with Nashville SC. NCFC needs a win this year, with the vets and first year players holding much promise. Leading goal getter of 2017 is back with NCFC and Steven MIller and he struck v Tampa last weekend.

A player injured in the SheBelieves Cup has been replaced in Mexico games

Hallie Mace had replaced backline player Casey Short due to her ankle injury. The UCLA senior will be at the Apr. 5 game in FL, see it at 7 p.m. ET on FS1 and Apr. 8 in Houston on FOX at 12:30 CT on FOX. Hurt in the 2nd game v France @ Red Bull Arena, her training with the Red Stars was going well until tweaking, it forcing her out for the friendlies. Mace out of CA, was in the U-23 camp of late and now has her 2nd call up to the full national team with the first being before the most recent SheBelieves Cup though not chosen for the ultimate roster.

With less than 24 hours to go first round pick, #10 overall Frannie Crouse and trialist Kaleigh Kurtz. Crouse out of Penn State with 37 goals and 17 assists over 92 games, a selection to the 2016 All-Big Ten first team and the 2015 College Cup All-tournament team she has a great future. Her last year saw her get 20 games netting 4 goals and 5 assists with 16 starts. Corus informs "It definitely feels great ". Kurtz out of neighboring SC and with Ostersunds SFF of Sweden last year turned heads as an invitee, she played college ball with fellow Courage player, GK Sabrina D'Angelo.

NYRB II has a new player

Netminder, Scott Levene has joined the USL team after his career at UCONN with 70 straight starts and 29 shutouts. The native Huskie passed Union backstop Andre Blake for the 2nd longest # of straight starts in team history. HC John Wolyniec stated " We're happy to welcome Scott to the club". A past member of the USNT at the U-14/15 level Levane said "I 'm very excited to sign my first professional contract".

USWNT takes on China

This summer the matches will take place June 7  at Rio TInto in UT at 7p.m. MT on FS1 and June 12 at FirstEnergy Field OH, 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The game at the RioT is the intial one since the Royals were established in the NWSL. Meeting for 2 finals in the '90's  a 2-1 win by the home team in '96 for the first Olympic Gold  then the famous 99'ers took the World Cup in penalties.  The 2nd most common opponent for the USWNT, with 56 games, not meeting in a final since '15 when China bested them in the last game for Abby Wambach.

Having opened their first US Academy in NY @ LIU CW Post right here on Long Island, yesterday it was announced they are taking their U-12 & U-9 teams to the Premiere Next Generation Cup in Dallas May 18-20. They join Dallas Texans, FC Dallas and others in this high level competition. It is a family centeric event as athletes and their families will have games, a festival area, music, food, vendors, bounce houses and much more.

Red Bull game change

The regullr season match to take place on April 7 v the Houston Dynamo is now moved to August 29 @ 8p.m., covered by MSG & Red Bulls Radio. This is a happy change and quite necessary as the NYRB have advanced to the Semi-FInals in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (CCL).  This is the 2nd change for Red Bull along with the April 21 game with the Chicago FIre which is now at 3:30 p.m., both moves are by MLS. The tickets for the Houston game willl be honored on the new date of Aug.

ENYYSA & NYRB link up

Last week it was announced by NYRB that there is now an official youth development partnership with them and ENYYSA. Dave Jervis, Sen. Dir. of Training Programs @ NYRB stated "we are excited to add ENYYSA to the Red Bulls family as a Youth Development Partner." Via this new deal, NYRB may grow their strong link to NY's youth soccer community, where players may avail themselves to a top tier exposure and close contact with Red Bull.

Cosmos ink 3

The first trials start soon but the Cosmos have already signed 3 for the coming NPSL season today. Returing Alexis Velela from Europe, former rival Jonathan Borrajo & Wojciech Wojcik. Coach Mendes stated " Borrajo is a versitile defender that can get forward and play a few positions for us. His last 2 years with Miami FC had him in 39 games doling out 6 assists as they swept both the Spring & Fall seasons but falling to the Cosmos in the league semi final in penalty kicks. 2015 had him with the Ft.
