The Vancouver Whitecaps, an historic soccer team in North American soccer, are about to close out their first decade in the MLS and even have a new Senior Leadership Group. In being the CEO & Sporting DIrector, Axel Schuster confirmed these developments today.
Axel informed "Today is all about our fans, our partners and the communities we serve. With this singular focus we align all aspects of the club around super serving these essesntial groups., We have a new leadership team, the majority new to the club, including myself. We will continue to be leaders and take action focused on community, diversity and inclusion. We will build a new department for fans and members that provide a deeper conection with a new WFC Membership Club. I am thankful to ownership for their support as we invest and strengthen our overall leadership and club."
Later in 2020, they will have an additional pair of new senior leaders with a new Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. They bring proven track records as planners and creators of groups and success. They with Rachel Lewis & Tom Plasteras will fill out these additions with Schuster at the lead.
Axel came to the team in Nov. of '19 as Sporting DIrector, then six months later was tabbed as CEO.
The team continues to be at the forefront of the community in making moves, causing measurable and staying changes. They are to take on a Dir. of Community, Diversity & Inclusion, linking with management of the club while making a working group to learn, comprehend, empathize and speak out for discernible advancements relative to racial injustice.
They are taking on a Director of Fans to build better connections with supporters, kicking off a WFC Membeship Club to all from wherever they may be. This Club is to help with better interactions with team and fans, affording them to be able to interact with the team, give their thoughts and get details and advantages.
Vanni Sartini was named earlier this week as Director of Methodology of all the Academy system.
