Each and every game without fail, NYCFC has their Tunnel of Honor, where members of the NYPD & FDNY stand opposite each other as the teams pass between them, heading out to the field. It is always a very inspiring sight.

This year as in years past they will honor those with the departments, in the following fashions:

- The jerseys #'s will go to a flag pattern, and players will have unique 9/11 armbands in remembrance.

-NYCFC players will enter the field in specifically designed 9/11 warm up tops, paying tribute to city agencies.

Always a great thing to have your players recognized by their home nation and chosen to represent them in international play, this FIFA window the Red Bulls have a terrific group going home. These players are Aaron Long of the US, see our Facebook page for video of him, Kemar Lawrence, we saw Taxi play for Jamaica just a few weeks ago, and Michael Amir Murillo of Panama who we saw face Taxi live, all are called back by their teams based on their stellar play during the Gold Cup.

The Red Bulls out shot and had more shots on target than did the Rapids, yet Colorado walked away with the shutout win. With over a dozen good looks on goal, none of which went in both goals, the first more so than the 2nd was against the run of play. Many of the first half tries were wide right of Tim Howard, the ex Red Bull on his last go 'round in the league. Jonathan Lewis had both goals, showing his value as the visitors did pay NYCFC a good deal of money for him, what was better his first goal or his slide? Images coming soon.

The win facing the Vancouvver Whitecaps propelled them into the playoffs yet again, for a 4th straight year and the earliest time to date, with a total of 7 games, 4 at home remaining, they are able to better their position. HC Torrent is on record that he will continue to play his best 11 each and every game from here out, possibly to help improve their chances at more games in the now single elimination playoff games at home.

Back to back national championships, numerous first round draft picks, national team players, later winners of the Player of the Year in the NCAA, Ulster has a huge weekend of events scheduled for Sept. 6 & 7. The UCC Soccer Alumni with the school has a number of local socccer events to pay homage to the long history of success on and off the pitch. The goal of this weekend is to honor George Vizvary, the Hall of Fame coach and his 2 national champions of 1977 & '78. Coach Viz is truly a legend  of the game.
