In American football they won with a pair of td's and a missed extra point but in futbol it was a systematic taking apart of an overmatched team. One record set, another equaled as Alex Morgan tied the GOAT, Michelle Akers with 5 goals in a game. The 15,591 who witnessed this fireworks show had to have left impressed, despite the fact it was Thailand the US beat, there was one little girl the cameras kept going to who was crying, so not all left happy. Another record tied was that the USA had 7 players score, equalling that mark set by Germany.

New York City FC (NYCFC) extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games, on Wednesday evening, after a 5:2 win over visiting FC Cincinnati (FC Cincy), before a crowd of 18,597, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

The victory improved NYCFC to 5-1-8 ledger, while FC Cincy, which dropped its fourth consecutive game, goes to a 3-11-12 record.

Hosts opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a tally Romanian international midfielder Alexandru Mitriță off an assist from Argentinean international midfielder Maximilliano Moralez.

WIth thanks to Erik Stover, I was able to conduct a phone interview with the head of the town in advance of the opening of their project, headed by Christian Fuchs, to be carried out on Saturday. The Hudson Sports Complex will have its Grand Opening, with an All-Star Game as its centerpeice while raising funds and awareness for the local charity, Beautiful People, in a recent incarnation, the space was a jail. Michael has held his title since 2002 and was raised locally giving him a thorough persepective on the property and its potential.

New York Cosmos hosted its first international friendly since 1985 as it defeated German Second Division Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli, 2:1, on Thursday evening at Columbia University’s Rocco B. Commisso Stadium. 

The Cosmos got on the board first in the sixth minute of play with a tally from Italian defender Emmanuele Sembroni off an assist from teammate Matt Lewis.
