NCFC Retains Albadawi

By Sean McCaffery, November 21, 2019

The ink may not be dry as yet on the new deal for one of the best in club lore and their leader in assists. From Raleigh, one of the most successful players in team history, at just 28, he may have many more years of service to come with his 24 assists leading the team and he is near the top in a few other categories, he holds the 5th position in games with 141, ditto in minutes with 11,739 and is one higher in goals at 25, quite a balance with his assists.

NY Cosmos to NISA

By Sean McCaffery, November 20, 2019

Back to the future for NY? A league with one of it's executives straight 'outta NASL has accepted the team into their league today. You will not find it on the League site, nor on that of the team other than in the margin as a tweet from NISA. That they were accepted into the league yet need USSF approval should not be a major obstacle as it would then give the team more ammunition on the Federation if denied.

37 Years & Counting for me in the Beautiful Game this Week

By Sean McCaffery, November 20, 2019

What a long strange trip it has been. 1982 saw me bothering Roy Messing & Tom Mulroy so much for a job at Shep Messing Soccer World, that they relented, I began sweeping up and things like that, soon I would start to go to the Shep Messing led NY Arrows games and sit at the table for the facility. The first LIJSL Convention stands out in my mind as I was taken very ill at the LI Marriott.

NYCFC Roster Adjustments

By Sean McCaffery, November 20, 2019

As we know, Sweat will now be with MIami for their inital MLS season, taken in the expansion draft yesterday. Keaton Parks who got great time this season is returning from his loan to Benfica, hope to se him during the ICC, where we first saw him before NYCFC. Also not having their options pickedup are Danny Bedoya of Queens, I have watched him since his days with St. John's and do find him to be a very good player, Queensboro FC maybe, they should market the heck out of him. Jeff Caldwell, Eric Miller Abdi Mohammed and Ebenezer Ofori were also not re upped.

USMNT 4-0 Cuba

By Sean McCaffery, November 20, 2019

As expected, the US won, I would have expected more goals or many more subs. Sargent took a good kick early that had him hobbling for a bit and is sure to be stiff right now, I would have pulled him right then. Imagine he gets hurt and stayed on yet was not good for his club team, those would then be less inclined to release their players. Get a good lead, bring in the next level players to get a look at them and not put them at risk once it has been assured that you will move onto the knockout round.

By Sean McCaffery, November 18, 2019

Following the 2 well attended, yes we also went to these games at RBA, Sky Blue is making a great move, a game changer, for the team to play their 2020 home games there. Marc de Grandpre, RBNY GM stated "We are pleased to welcome Sky Blue back to Red Bull Arena after 2 successful events in 2019.  The team departs the way off the beaten path Yucak FIeld on Rutgers Piscataway campus, for the SSS that Red Bull Arena is, a top notch place. home to many international matches including tomorrow evening. Tammy Murphy, Sky Blue owner rep.

Yanks Outkick Canucks, 4-1

By Sean McCaffery, November 16, 2019

Relax, this is what is to be expected, this is not an annointment of the USMNT in any way shape or form. They did what they had to do at minimum plus one goal. To advance and assure themselves a spot in qualifying for the World Cup, they must still beat Cuba, I would have bet the house on it ahead of the previous game with Canada, now I would be the car. They need the wins along with a 3 goal differential, that they accomplished, but there was no reason for it to be this difficult.
