Portland had a handful named in Franch, Sonnett, Horan & Heath,  while Sky Blue had just one in NJ player Lloyd, Orlando has what may be the first couple on the same World Cup team in history as both Harris & Krieger will join Morgan.

Courage Dine on the Dash 4-1

Things are bigger in Texas as was this win for the visitors who saw Williams get her 40th pro goal and Debhina the 100th team goal.  So far so perfect for the 2019 season as Long Islander Crystal Dunn a defender for the USWNT and Leah Pruitt added the other pair of goals. Lynn is now #4 in the league in goals all time and Pruitt had this, her first pro goal, what a historic game for the team.

Just 6' in, the FIre heated it up as Gaitan took one out of the air from inside the penalty box testing GK Bush and many shots to follow as Nikolic's attempt hit the post back post to Sapong and his attempt from inside the goal box was cleared off the goal line. It was Gaitan again as McCarty fed him at 67' and he then put it through to Nicolic and his bending go on goal was saved by Bush. They had the better of the play for the 2nd half but a late goal at 83' spelt defeat at the feet of the Impact as a Browne cross was deflected past the netminder, 1-0 Montreal.

A Big Battle in the West yields a 1-1 tie as LAFC & Seattle wind up all knotted up, leaving the 2nd year LAFC in sole possession of first place league wide.  From the friendly confines of their home park, Seattle drew first blood less than a minute in as Jordan Morris, yes a team doctors son, can you believe it took a backpass from Segura and his left footed shot was true.

Three games in a week, 2 wins then an anticlimactic tie with the same side they tied on opening day at Yankee Stadium, now it was 1-1 with Orlando City SC. A pair of adjustments from the last starting XI were Castellanos & Matarrita from Tajouri-Schardi & Ben Sweat. OC came out well as they tried for the early lead and Sands stymied an early change with a great challange on Akindele just at the 8' but that would not last. The next push forward for Saw Nani hit the bottom 90 beating Johnson for the first strike of the game.

Cosmos B Blank NYAC In NPSL Home Opener

New York Cosmos B opened its 2019 NPSL’s (National Premier Soccer League) season on Saturday with a 2:0 victory over visiting NY Athletic Club (NYAC) at Uniondale’s Mitchel Athletic Complex before an enthusiastic crowd of 3,750.

Cosmos B improve to 1-0 record in NPSL’s North Atlantic Conference, while NYAC falls to 0-1.

The Boys are back, in Green. Being lead by 2nd year coach, now in his 17th involved with the pro game, Long Islander Carlos Medes has his charges ready to kick it off for the season. It willl be a derby of sorts as they face NYAC, Green & White takes on Red & White as they try and ground the winged foot team. Mendes shared, " It's very important to play well. We're going to have to bring the right energy. We have to have the right mentality. It's a new venue.

NC Courage are now on the Road, Dashing off to Houston

The Courage who have many Long Island ties are set to take on Houston, featuring St. John's Soccer Alum and a member of the Lionesses in Rachel Daly. With identical records of 1-0-1 they are both atop the standings. NC opened with a 1-1 game hosting the Red Stars then a massive result in a 5-0 drubbing of Orlando leaves them tied with the Thorns for most goals and alone in differential.

NC is the place to be for the ICC Women's Game

Headlining the 2nd iteration of these games will be NC Courage as the games are to be played at their home field of Sahlen's Stadium at Wake Med Park from Aug. 15-18. Both the final & semi are slated for the 18th. ICC & NWSL champs, NC Courage are to be challanged by top flite competition from Europe, Olympique Lyonnais last years runners up and 5X UEFA champs, will face Atleitico Madrid the 2017/18 Primera Division winner as FA Women's Super League titleists Machester City meet the home team. This year there will be a monetary prize for the winners.
