A first for NYCFC, a Win in 2019, 2-0 @ DC United

By Sean McCaffery, April 22, 2019

A total team win, from start to finish, a very Hoppy Easter to all involved. NYCFC have been mired in a no win situation since last season, at home they have put together some time of wining play but not enough to actually win, it has been no different on the road. The goal gap left behind by the departure of David Villa was filled for the day at least by Herber of Brazil, whose interview may be seen on our Facebook page, as well as Mitrita of Romania two recent additions, I fully expect both to net many more goals.

By Sean McCaffery, April 9, 2019

The defending NWSL and ICC champions have their side selected and there are a number of familar faces for those who follow us in the various medias. They open the season at home on April 13 facing the Red Stars and it seems Paul Riley again has a stacked side. 20 of the 22 senior spots are returning players, an amazing percentage and bodes well for the team especially early season as other teams are still building familiarity with their players. The pair of newbies being Canadian National Team 'keeper, Stephanie Labbe and defender Ally Haran.

USA 6-0 Belgium

By Sean McCaffery, April 8, 2019

A mismatch from the word go as Carli Lloyd braced the team with 2 before the game was 20 minutes old. It was a game to play homage to the past, as the 99'ers and other former players were present and the future, as young players who have been inspired by curent players walked them out as the players wore jerseys with the names of those they have inspired and after the national anthems the young ones donned those jerseys.

By Sean McCaffery, April 1, 2019

With the opening game of the NPSL regualr season now less than 4 weeks away they have shored up their team at all levels, some players are returning, most have Long Island ties.

Paul Blanchette the Cali 'keeper is here by way of Finaland and his last team, PEPO Lappeenranta with 18 league games to his credit. HC Carlos Mendes, a Long Islander himself had this to say of the netminder, "We are very happy to sign Paul. He is a talented and focused individual."

Whitecaps 0-0 Sounders

By Sean McCaffery, April 1, 2019

This game of historic proportions was tied in Cascadia as a late PK whistle was overturned, VAR 4 MVP. Seattle defender Kim Keehee was called for the PK as he took down countrymate and international teammate Inbeom Hwang as he went for a rebound, this gave the 'Caps their first points of the year and spoiled the perfect record for Seattle. Ali Adnan in his frist MLS minutes showed his high level from the go. The Iraqi international playing left back had a large role in keeping USMNT forward Jordan Morris & VIctor Rodriguez off the sheet all day.
