Hudson Sports Complex Opening with All-Star Soccer & Special Events

A "Big House" has been repurposed. After an over $5,000,000 yes that is the correct # of 0's investment with a group headed by Soccer Star Christian Fuchs, the facility is ready to open. The former correctional facility features indoor and outdoor fields, on June 1 it will feature many international soccer players, an auction to benefit Beautiful People, a youth tourney and oh so much more. The main event will be a chairy All-Star Game benefitting this group to help children with disabilities play adaptive sports.

Red Bulls drop 3 on FC Dallas in the 3-1 win

The Young Guns of NYRB won a western style shootout with Dallas in getting all 3 goals before just 12,263 in Frisco. Kyle Duncan picked up a yellow in first half added time, this unsporting behavior seems to now be an epidemic. In a game of firsts, it was the first road win for NY and conversely the first home loss for Dallas. Casseres Jr was assited by Ivan just 11' in, the 2nd half saw Nealis get his first MLS goal from Murillo then White, his 2nd from Fernandez at 85'. FC Dallas out shot NY big time 15-9 with 6 on goal to the quartet from NY.

NYCFC 2-0 LA Galaxy

Another win for NYCFC this one out on the left coast before almost 23,000 Galaxy faithful. With a trio of adjustments to his starting lineup from the win by the same score in Montreal with Mararrita, Rocha and Sands getting the go from the go to help get 3 away wins in a row, quite the change from the early season winless times. Starting with 3 in the back helped the first quater hour to be all NYCFC with Ring, Moralez & Tinnerholm playing a big role with that. Ring tried to first get on the sheet at just 17'.

Cosomos Beat Boston City FC by an odd Football Score

NY continued it's hot start to the season, winning by a field goal and a safety, 5-0 with an even larger crowd than their home opener, all goals coming in the 2nd half. 2nd generation pro and international player from El Salvador, Junior Burgos struck 2x as he made his NPSL debut with his pair of free kick strikes, he was selected at the Man of the Match before 5.121 frenzied fans at Mitchel. Joining Junior on the score sheet were Darwin Espinal, Charlier Ledula & Joey Sanchez.

The 4th was with RBNY as they tamed the Galaxy 3-2

They opened the game with their force of last year, Connor Lade was involved in his 2nd goal in as many games as he assisted Rzatkowski, his 1st of the year and 3rd in MLS, after a wall pass via the defender, who first timed the pass at the hour mark. NYRB struck first of the foot of Tarek, it took some time but Zlatan would have none of it as he played a role in assiting Antuna with a great ball across the box then 4 minutes later getting his own goal. Etienne got the winning goal in the 67', not long after being subbed in for the first win v LA at RBA since 2013.

NYCFC WINS, Away, Shutout 2-0 @ Montreal

Still with twice as many ties as wins, NYCFC earned half as many wins as they had all season in their last 90 minutes of play, at times they have played more than well enough to win but failed to do so, this had each of the local NY teams win, a great soccer weekend for the local fans. The first game James Sands did not dress but local player from Queens Danny Bedoya did. Moralez had a hand or more accurately, a foot in each goal as he assisted one after getting his own early in the first half at 6'. Again there were may cautions issued for Unsporting Behavior a pair for each team.

Hoping for Red Bulls to be Inhospitable Hosts to the Galaxy

Long Beach player, Horgan is back home with youth coach Riley in NC

Defending NWSL champions, North Carolina Courage have inked Clemson standout Shannon Horgan who last season was playing in Europe. She joins a long list of players from the youth teams on LI coached by Long Island Soccer Legend Paul Riley in this the top league on the planet. Shannon had been invitee into camp at the start of it and we are so happy she has caught on. Shannon joins fellow Long Islander Crystal Dunn on the team as they defend their titles both in the league and ICC torney. Horgan had been with the USWNT U-20 & 23 teams as she was invited to their camps on 3 occasions.
