As per the rules of the league, NYCFC has put out their roster moves from this past season, and they include:

Options were picked up for - Daniel Bedoya, Jeff Caldwell, Sebastian Ibeagha & Brad Stover, Valetin Castellanos had the buyout from Club Atletico Torque done, he is now with NYCFC.

Options declined- Eloi Amagat, Kwame Awuah, Maxime Chanot, Tommy McNamara, Ebenezer Ofori, Andre Rawls, & Rodney Wallace.

Out of contract-Yangel Herrera & Saad Abdul-Salaam as of Dec. 31, Saad was offered a bona fide offer he retain his right of first refusal.

It had been rumored throughtout the season and those trumours increased in the offseason for NYCFC, but #7 is now gone effective the end of 2018. He was not always the best player in NY, that nod must go to Raul, was the best player in the MLS, yes. A top player on a world scale, the probverbial big fish in a small pond, he was here. Each and every one of my dealing with him, class pure class. Little ones at appearances, opponents, teammates, always top notch.

David Longwell, the top man at what is thought of as the top academy in the nation is out, a replacement is expected shortly.  Denis Hamlett, Sporting Director for the club stated, "We thank David for his contributions, but we have decided to part ways." Further informing that he will continue to oversee the academy and that developing players and affording them opportuinties in the Tri-State area remains key.

Needing to win by 4 overall, whether it be in regular time, overtime or pk's, it is do or die. You have the best offense in the MLS coming to town having only beaten their hosts once ever and facing a defense that has allowed less than a goal a game, but it was a resounding loss 3-0 just this past Sunday. In a second game so close to the first, the losing team typically has the advantage and RBA has been a fortress with NYRB outscoring opponents 12-1 over the last dozen home games, this bodes well.
