Sporting KC has a COVID Case

Scant hours after a media Zoom session with HC Peter Vermes where he stated his players do trainging , eat, lift etc., then are back to their rooms, to reduce exposure, being more careful with the pair of teams left out of the MIB games, one of his own has had his 2nd positive test, such a shame. These results are on the heels of the two straight days after arrival in Orlando and the 5 total days of testing since they got there. Thankfully the rest of those with the team are negative. All of them will now be tested every day for 2 weeks, their game with MInnesota at 7 p.m.

In Vancouver, you may Watch it Live

I am not quite sure who sends more to us Vancouver or Chicago, but they keep at it. As MLSis Back those in the lower mainland now have the chance to see games at their local pub partners of the 'Caps. All such partners will be following social distancing  and health rules, be sure to call ahead to be sure of them having space. 

FCC Programming for MLS is Back Games

This newer MLS team has set it offerings over radio and matchday shows around their group games. Tom Gelehrter and Kevin McCloskey are to host 2 rradio showns on the teams radio partner, WDJO @ 99.5 FM, 107.9 FM & 1480 AM. There will be an hour long Tourney Preview Show today from 6-7 p.m and a follow up show on July 15, each will have HC Jaap Stam and more special guests. FCC Kicks off WFH Uniforms

In advance of this tournament they trot out their third kit. Tomorrow night it all starts and now the aptly named Watch Fom Home uniforms may be scored. Of late this time of year and its nights would be spent watching the Orange & Blue at their Nippert Stadium, not this time, but one still may have the authentic game day gear of their team. There are a trio of packages all to be had at ForCincyForClub.com or in store with curbside delivery. Included are a bottle opener and koozie, $10 Dunkin gift card, a Mercy Health rally towel, FCC stress ball & an FCC car magnet at $125.

Chicago Fire & Nasville SC Postponed

One team is out one game is pushed back, the July 8 game with the Fire and Nashville will not be played at the original time. More information will be released in the near future. 

A full 5 players from Nashville tested positive for the COVID-19 virus since arrival in Orlando. A pair knew over the weekend and the last trio knew last night. Another 4 teammates tested inconclusive and will be tested again. MLS will keep up on their decision for them to play in this once those 4 are known.

FIFA World Cup Workshops

The first time the World Cup will have 48 teams over 80 contests , it will be played in 3 nations, Canada Mexico & the USA, the buzz is building as they consider all 23 host city hopefuls, determination on these is due next year. In the workshops were people from each of the 17 cities in the states up for the 10 spots to be awarded. Mexico and Canada got their's in pre Corona.

Center Backs: Cornelius, Godoy, Khmiri, Veselinovic

Fullbacks: Adnad, Gutierrez, Nerwinski

Central Meifielders: Baldisimo, Bikel, Colyn, Hwang, Metcalfe, Owusu, Pecile, Teibert

Forwards: Bair, Dajome, Milinkovic, Raposo, Reyna

Vancouver makes a loan to Ottawa

In less than a pair of years, Gianfranco Facchineri has gone from the team's Academy in Aug of 2018 to their developmental squad and now off to the CPL for the 18 yeaer old center back until Septmeber. This Homegrown player also had time with the 'Caps U-17 & 19 squads, and Canada for the 2019 U-17 World Cup, inking his deal this past January. The CPL was due to kickoff April but COVID-19 dashed that. Last month the league, players and owners got together to set what to do with the year, Atletico Ottawa started to train again in early June. 

USSF & FIFA on 2026 World Cup Venue Selection

Of course the USA is hosting the lions share of games in the Cup being hosted here as well as in Canada and Mexico, they had their such meeting in the spring ahead of the Coronavirus crisis hitting. Here, there are to be 10 cities chosen out of 17 with almost a quarter of them being in the north east. A good many of them were host to the last time the Men's version was here and there are some new markets as well. In on the call was Dan Flynn recent CEO of USSF and now head of the US City Selection and Colin Smith, FIFA Chief Tournament and Events officer.
