Bayern Munich & Univ. of Denver have Teamed Up

The announcement today of this far reaching union has a top team on a world wide scale and this University exchanging thoughts on coaching and experience for those seeking employment in the sporting world and getting a degree in the states. Jorg Wacker a VP with Bayern stated, "FC Bayern is comitted to growing soccer at all levels in the U.S.

USNT is beyond perfect at 0 goals allowed and 18 scored in Concacaf play

In a truly dominant fashion, the USWNT swept through Group Play in these games that will determine what nations will go on to represent our region at the World Cup, one team will have a play in with Argentina. Group A was decimated by the USA last night as it rained water and goals with both Alex Morgan and Rose Lavelle netted braces, Horn, Dunn (of RVC) and Heath also tallied, the frame of the TNT net may still be shaking from all the times the US pinged it. Next game is Sunday 7p.m.

Soccer Day in NYC by NYCFC is Oct. 15

As part of their initiative to create 50 mini-soccer pitches in 5 years, NYCFC is unveiling the plans and some pitches. Present will be amongst others, David Villa, Sean Johnson, Alex Ring, team execs. Claudio Reyna and outgoing Pres. Jon Patricof, representatives from the Mayor's Fund to Advance NYC, U.S. Soccer Foundation, adidas, from Men in Blazers, Roger Bennett and others. The grand event with this will take place in the Bronx at a site utilized by 4 schools.

United Soccer Coaches announce Commitment to Culture

This, the largest community for Soccer coaches in the world has been around since 1941 and each year has their annual convention, 2019 will see it in Chicago. What they have done is established 7 key areas and this "Commitment to Culture" was put together by coaches, for coaches developing a culture promoting the best of soccer and change it from not soley what occurs on the field but to extend it to the lives of players, coaches, administrators, referees, families and friends alike. This is a  promise to develop a different optomistic culture here in the states.

Jill Ellis has been a bit of a lightning rod for the team, variioius lineups in games that are not so important allowing her to get a look at different things and players in different positions, Crystal Dunn a defender, YES. In Aug of 2015 she was rewarded for her successes with a multi year deal, then became just the 3rd U.S. Coach, joining the late great Tony DiCicco and his '99ers & legend Anson Dorrance in 1991,  and first female to head a FIFA World Cup winning side.

Penn FC to sit out 2019

Ok so I used the headline to garner attention, though true, it is being done as they set up for USL League One in 2020. In light of the approval from USL to join this league they now begin the most arduous task of finding a location in the region as they put it, for a new soccer specific stadium, (SSS). WIth that, they have already arranged to vacate their current facility by the new year.  On this missing of a season, Owner, Eric Pettis had this to say, "We're incredibily disappointed not to take part in the 2019 season.

USWNT has qualified foe the semi, now aim to take the group in Concacaf

Having taken both opponents apart, 6-0 over Mexico and downing Panama 5-0 the USWNT seeks the top of their Group A in the 2018 Concacaf Women's Championsship facing TNT on the 10th in Wake Med Soccer Park. Their ticket is punched for Oct. 14 & Frisco Texas for the semis and final, but they want to be at the top going in.  See how they do towards that end on Wed. 7:30 p.m. ET on FS2, & UDN.  Three nations from our region go on to France in 2019 for the World Cup, one goes off to play Argentina in a home and away play in.

Roster was set for Kickoff Series with Colombia & Peru

Though set a week ago, there have been a few changes to those selected to represent the Red, White & Blue this month in FL & CT. The opponents like the last few are in the top 25 teams of the FIFA rankings and a few veteran players have been brought in, Michael Bradley & Brad Guzan. FIrst up is Colombia #14 on the 11th of Oct. in FL, on deck are Peru in CT on the 16th. The Colombia game has over 23,000 tickets sold and counting and will be broadcast by FS1, UniMas & UDN from 7:30p.m. ET.

NYRB go west for Success with San Jose Earthquakes.

Saturday evening at 10:30 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG GO, TuneIn & New York Red Bulls Radio, you may run with the Bulls as they face the Quakes. This will be the 39th time they get together, both part of the first 10 clubs in MLS history. SJ leads with a 17-12-9 record, however NYRB prevailed last time 5-1, but it has been since 2010 and a first leg game in MLS CUp Playoffs than NYRB have won away. Having a team best season, and now looking to build upon that, NY comes in hot, having dominated Atlanta in NY 2-0 for win #19, and 62 total points.
