Missing were the locker room area and tunnel fireworks as was the loss for NY and they bested TFC, 2-1, behind a brace from TInari as Ben Mines contiuned to impress with an assist and Valot who will surely get a lot of time with the first team had the other assist. It was a bit like Atlantic City as Harrisson had many cards dealt, 4 to the visitors and 2 to the home team. NY showed some early season grit overcoming a 1-0 defecit. This was the first time NYRB won its season opener in their 4 year history. Just 11 minutes in Matthew Srbely got in behind the defense to put one home.

Club Pres & GM Curt Johnson stated " We are proud to be partnering with such a nationally recognized brand". They are the official partner and official tire of MLS & US Soccer and last year adorned the back of both NC teams tops. The company logo will also be well placed well at the stadium and as sponsoring highlights and recaps of the games.

SKC advances to a first place tie on the strength of goals by Zusi & Gutierrez as Llie gets his first on a pk. Long Islander Tim Melia was between the sticks with former NYCFC player, Khiry Shelton getting 82 minutes, Quincy Amarikwa with a side business of selling soccer training tools got in a quick 8 minutes in a losing effort as former NY Cosmos player Jimmy Ockford did not see the field and Albanian international Jahmir Hyka, who we spoke with last season did not dress. We will be posting video of and about the game on the fb of Soccer Long Island Magazine.
