MLS Against Asian & Pacific Island Atacks

Together with the Asians in the MLS Employee Resource Group, the league released this statement, reiterating their backing of those from the regions. This is a respnse to such horrific events that have taken a nasty uptick in the wake  of the Corona virus.

Now and always, MLS advocates for social justice and is dedicated to combatting racism and xenophobia. Attacks on the Asian community, while not new, have been on the rise since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The increasing violent hate crimes against members of the Asian community are abhorrent and must come to an end.

NYCFC "Bronx Blue" Jersey features NYC Heroes

Along with the jersey paying tribute to those who have been key in this Covid fight, the team has also established a "Heroes Row" for all games to host these Heroes.

To help show off these new jerseys, NYCFC features local residents who have been there since day one of the team as well as those who helped team and town over this rough pandemic time.

The team is set to finish the leagues quarantine March 8 then they are off to Florida until the 27th. While in Orlando they will have many friendlies beginning with the the Fire on the 13th, a Saturday. Next up, on the 18th will be their next game facing an unknown opponent at this time, following that they are off to St. Petersburg for the balance of the camp. 

At Al Lang Stadium, the home of the USL Rowdies, they have a game on the 24th and again on the 27th facing Nashville.

Am I jaded yes, am I a realist, yes, 3 teams by the age of 19, all gone due to lack of $$ including one just 2 years removed from  titles,  another did not return to defend one, the 3rd not even seeing out it's sole season, that it happens now with a half a billion in investment being asked for in a global pandemic is more of a yawner than news.

Ron Burkle today made it known that due to the impact of Covid, he was poised to be the lead investor for the wildly popular USL city of Sacramento stepping up to MLS.
