Shavon John-Brown was kind enough to give us some of his time to discuss things this week. He of course had a good game facing New Amsterdam for the 2nd time in this greatly abbreviated season of NISA and has been in the local soccer scene for some time now as well as playing internationally for his Grenada. When asksed about how he, his family etc. both here and back home are, it was a most welcome answer, that all are well. He did find it rather difficult to train during the height of the shutdown due to the Coronavirus, though was able to get in a lot of running.

We were able to catch up with just the 2nd captain of the most famous brand is USA soccer since their reboot, only to find the next game was not to be. We began by inquiring as to how his family has been through this Coronavirus crisis, thank goodness, all are well on his side of the family and that of his wife.

During the worst of times, he did find it tough to train as the fields were closed, but was able to get in a lot of roadwork and do body weight exercises.

The Cosmos were in our favor as we scored our 2nd interview of the year with this perennial fan favorite, once in the off season and just days before the big rematch with the one team that got in their way of yet another title last year, Detroit City FC. Bledi got the start in Warwick taking on New Amsterdam and yes of course he delivered with a goal and was dangerous throughout.

He took down Nashville Forward, Badji at 38' of their game on the 22nd and was ejected for violent conduct. On the 26th, United play Inter Miami.

The suspension was considered under Disciplinary Committee Parameter #3, they may do so when PRO admits an on-field ref or VAR error and the vote must be all in favor if at least one game is the suspended period. That would be a red card without doubt, and very bad or repeated behavior, they must then act to protect player safety and the integrity of the game. Please see Soccer Atlanta Magazine for the video.

This is really the least that should be done by the league, the team's statement "While Emmanuele has played his last game for the Cosmos." For me he was done once his foot came down, as a former ref, you do not get to walk around the field, hang at the bench while your victim is treated, out of the field area ASAP, gone.
