THe 30 year old Brazilian, Wellington Paeckart, of course goes by the one name monicker of "PECKA" will be with the team for the coming 2020 season. He has been in the US for some time, of late with San Antonio FC as he was their captain last season. He wore the world famous yellow jersey with the U-18's in Brazil and in 2009 began his pro career with the renowned Flamengo FC in 2009, then with CFZ de Rio before debuting here with the Ft. Laudrdale Strikers in 2011, he Lockhart home until 2014. Next stop was MLS with RSL, their Real Monarch, Rayo OKC and until last year, San Antonio.

As of Dec. 31, 2019, John Furlong will no longer be a Whitecap, Co-owner Jeff Mallett will take the title of Executive Chair for the time being, this role had John as a major player in guidance of team ownership and senior staff. Mallet, also a director since 2009, will take the post, solidifying his spot as the face of the ownership team that includes Greg Kerfoot, Steve Luczo & Steve Nash.

As you know, they added a top scorer for LigaMX, now see what he and his cohorts will be up to shortly. The first portion will be spent in the warmer confines of Southern California, as they will have camps in LA, San Diego then Portland where a nemesis of HC dos Santos, Giovanni Saverse coaches, the NY Cosmos of Gio beat the team coached by Marco for the Soccer Bowl of the NASL a few years back. The players have a bit over a month of freedom as they are expected back to the Whitecaps FC National Soccer Development Centre on Jan. 20 before the first of 2 sojurns south.

Retirement, players released, players resigned by others, but now a trio of Bulls are back to the Arena for 2020 and beyond. 'Keeper Ryan Meara, Fwd. Brian White & Def. Amro Tarek are back in the fold. Sporting Director Denis Hamlett had this to say, "We are pleased to reach agreements with Ryan, Brian & Amro. As we look to improve our team with new additions, it is also important to make sure we solidify our existing roster and build out our core. We know the value of all 3 players and we expect all 3 to be contributors for us in 2020 and beyond."

The first order of business for Gerog Heitz will be to head the hunt for a head coach, his other responsiblities will be to oversee all aspects of Fire football operations, first team and Academy decisions. He has been at this sort of thing for nearly 20 years now and is a well thought of soccer executive, now he awaits his work visa.
