Hoping they have as much luck as with #13, Mike Grella, NYRB used the 13th pick in this draft to select Kendall McIntosh, this Stage 1 choice made him a Red Bull. Stage 1 selections have their 2020 options picked up or have the 2020 offer match their 2019 pay, Stage 2 players are able to redo their deals. The 25 year old was with Timbers and T2. Out of Santa Rosa CA, he played first for Portland facing San Jose in a Lamar Hunt US Open Cup match June 6 , with a shutout in the 2-0 win. Over his 3 years there, he had 60 starts and 10 shutouts with T2 since '16.

Tayvon Brown who of late has created quite a buzz has now inked his first pro deal. Tayvon informed "I'm very excitied to sign with New York CIty FC. I'm a Bronx kid and this is my hometown team, so to start my professional career in New York City is a dream come true." There is now a quartet of Academy products on the first team, although one, Joe Scally of Lake Grove is signed elsewhere.

MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps have put a player out to Suwon Samsung Bluewings of the K League 1 in loaning them defender Doneil Henry, at the same time, they will not exercise their option on def?wing Victor "PC" Giro. HC Marc Dos Santos stated "We are thankful for the contributions Donell & PC made on and off the pitch during their time in  Vancouver and we wish them all the best". Henry of Ontariao at just 26 now had been signed by way of the MLS Allocation Process in Dec. of 2017.

LIke all other MLS teams, they have not exercised their options on a number of players in Chitown. Elliott Collier, Nicolas Gaitan, Aleksander Kata, Christian Martinez, Armando Moreno , David Ousted & Richard Sanchez. They may take some solace in that they will not be wearing the new crest on their chest this coming season.

This new design is different that is for sure, the new name, Chicago Fire Football Club or Chicago Fire FC not so much, but the rebrand has arrived for one of the original teams of MLS. As explained by new majority owner Joe Mansueto " I always loved the Chicago Fire name. The new badge including the fire crown represents that spirit." There is a message in this badge, the mirror effect is to show the flames opposite each other creating a crown, the Fire Crown, relating the tale of the Windy City and it's rebirth to triumph.
