Today the team made their honorees for this past season. Danny Royer won the well deserved MVP, in the absence of BWP, he stood above the fray getting it done, this was sponsored by Alcatel. Defensive Plyaer of the Year went to Cristian Casseres Jr., no small feat with others playing in the back on their respective national teams. No surprise as he was a finalist for Humanitarian of the Year league wide, Luis Robles took home this distinction. Amro Tarek, is the Newcomer of the Year.

The writing on the wall may have been there for a bit, word of his being unhappy that it took him so long to get Heber. I was not there for the whole of the post TFC game presser, when he was said to have referred to the team as "they/them', if stated while I was present, I missed it. During this presser, an early question was met with a question, not the way to deal with anyone, but after a loss such as that, it is a bit understandable. Now the team enters it's 6th year and seeking the 4th coach, 1.5 seasons average per is not the way to find stability.

During the Concacaf Nations League game on Nov. 15 at home v Mexico and again the 19th hosting Boliva in a friendly he may get half of the 5 games he saw with the Fire. Cristian played 9 games in the USL Championship with the Las Vegas Lights getting a pair of goals.

A break out year for the diminutive player had him reach new heights by way of his 20 assists, #2 in MLS history and tops in this post shootout era. Just closing out his 3rd year and with a new contract, he must be looking up to a big year in 2020. He had a grand total of 30 games this season with 7 goals and just the 3rd player in MLS lore to hit for 20 assists. He now is in rare air as David Villa who twice was named in 2016 & '17 is the only only other NYCFC player to be so honored.
