The game got hot via goals from Tommy McCabe, Andrew Gutman & Joseph-Claude Gyau for the 3-0 scoreline from Kino North Stadium, the first official game of the MLS side this preseason. McCabe kicked off the scoring with his left, it came from a low crossing ball by Rey Ortiz at 22'. Ortiz, the 2nd round MLS SuperDraft pick again assisted Gutman, who put the team up by a pair from just beyond the penalty area.

Expansion Draft selection, Bryan Merdith has come and gone from Miami without ever suiting up for them as he is now with Vancouver, he was traded for a 4th round pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, not such a bad deal for either team as the better players are not exposed to the expansion drafts and the 4th round tends to not yield a high level player in the SuperDraft. The 'Caps added more experience to their team as this 9 year pro is now in their fold, between the Sounder & Earthquakes he had 8 years. He will link up with the 'Caps in South CA, during this, their preseason camp.

Chicago Fire keep adding new pieces, this time it is Bobby Shuttleworth, the GK is a proven MLS vet, having been with the New England Revoluiton and Minnesota United FC from 2009-'19, gaining 185 games, all but 4 as starts. Last year, he had some time with USL Championship team Sacramento Republic FC.
Fire HC Raphael WIcky informed " Bobby is a true professional and a very experienced goalkeeper. His experience and knowledge of MLS will be very valuable for out team. I look forward to working with him".

Thorarinsson, Gudmundur that is, out of the Swedish team IFK Norrkoping since 2017. He is 27, out of Iceland, think he saw the great movie viewed at the Kicking & Screening FIlm Festival, "Inside the Volcano"? and has played for his nation. He is a bit versitile as he has seen time as a left back and center mid alike. Over the last trio of years, he has 84 games in the top tier of Swedish soccer with 4 goals and 15 assists.

There is a new open roster spot for FC Cincy to fill as the 23 year old and the #13 selection in the MLS SuperDraft of 2019 has been let go. With only 3 appearances on the game roster and not a second of playing time for the team, he had been loaned out to USL team Hartford Athletic where he had 15 games and a goal.
