They got by with a little help from their opponents, as the Dynamo and LA Galaxy tied, they got in on the strength of their trio of points and -2 goal differential.

They need to win by two, it seemed to be at risk as CJ Capong put one in very late, but it was off his arm yesterday morning. This allowed them to come in 4th out of all the 3rd place teams, getting a Wild Card position in the knockout rounds with their 1-2-0 record.
SKC won Group D and were advanced by their 2-1-0 record as ex-NYCFC player Khiry Shelton had a number of goals.
Sporting KC bested the 'Caps on opening day way back on Feb. 29, 3-1 in BC Place.

It is a big rival game and Sporting KC came out on top, 7 yellow cards were issued, tied in fouls as the victors had twice the shots and four times as many on goal.
The first tally by Johnny Russell a scant :49 in was followed by an equally late 86' goal buy sub Fernendes to send KC to the top of the MLS Western Conference standings and to at worst the #2 spot in Goup D at MIB. Pulido had both assists and is now the only one with a trio of goals and assists.

Right down to the end, needing to win by a pair, it was still not certain as CJ Sapong did put one in, off his arm. The good thing about the weather delay was it allowed me to catch the rebroadcast of the NWSL game pitting the Red Stars v Sky Blue, the bad thing was they were scheduled to begin an hour apart, lets fracture the smaller audiance for the men and women's game by doing so?
