Soccer Loses a Legend ~ Rocco Amoroso ~ Originator of "Building Character through Soccer"

By Kevin McCrudden, May 6, 2016

Rocco Amoroso may not have been large in stature, but he was a giant in the soccer community!

He coined the phrase, "Building Character through Soccer" as a part of his Sportsmanship initiative that has spread across America.

For those that knew him or spent time with him, he always made time to say hello and always had a moment to share a kind word.

He was a gentleman of the sport of soccer and a friend to many including me and Soccer Long Island Magazine.

R.I.P. Rocco.  God Bless.
