Fire Get Forward Monis on Homegrown Deal
MLS team Chicago Fire has added Academy product, Alex Monis at just 16, he is the 18th such signee in team lore, and is under contract untl 2023, wth a one year option.
HC Raphale Wicky informed "We're pleased to announce Alex as a Homegrown signing for the Chicago Fire. Alex is a talented player and while this is a huge step, we believe he is ready to develop within the first team environment and continue to sharpen his soccer abiliities."
Who is Up for Induction to the National Soccer Hall of Fame
Added to ballots are a quartet of retirees, and 5 builders, voting on the 2020 class begins March 18. Those added have in fact met the qualifying criteria.
New Veteran Players: Frank Klopas, Taylor Twellman, Marco Etchevery Steve Zungul. Interesting no mention is made of his time with the MISL NY Arrows, my first team or his many times named to an all league team there. Twellman joined the family business as a pro soccer player after his father and uncle.

Feilhaber Finished
Yes, after a decade and a half in MLS, Benny of Sporting Kansas City has hung up his cleats. Such a successful pro career highlighted by a MLS title and a pair of Lamar Hunt US Open Cups while with SKC, at the national team he had equal success with a Gold Cup title and World Cup games for the USMNT.
Pendant to be Red
Jason Pendant, a 23 year old back with 4 years in France, his last with FC Sochaux-Montbeliard in Ligue 2 has joined the New York Red Bulls. The left back from France will of course use an international spot.
Denis Hamlett RBNY SD informed "We are pleased to welcome Jason to our Club. In scouting Jason, we saw all the qualities of a Red Bull player. He is a bright, mature young man that became a leader at Sochaux despite his young age."
Javier Casas goes from the Academy to the Fire
The 16 year old is now the 17th Homegrown in club lore, this teenaged midfielder is inked to the team through 2023 with a Club option for 2024.
HC Raphael WIcky shared "Javier has shown tremendous upside as he has been training within the first-team throughout the 2020 season. His Soccer IQ is beyond his years and our staff is looking forward to working with him to continue his development in a professional setting."
2020-21 USSDA Membership is set
The USSDA has as one of their main things being to touch the typical club exerience and grow the highest level of youth players nationally, with this in mind, more age groups are coming into play for the coming season.
Now in their 4th year the Girl's DA has added an U-13 in the Northeast DIv. as fully 4 clubs add new age groups.
The Boy's side also has that magical number of 4 at work as a quartet of new clubs come in for the 14th year and 11 clubs add teams for new age groups.
Jason Kreis USMNT U-23 HC Talks Olympics
Former MLS coach with title wining RSL, the historic 1st coach of NYCFC & last with Orlando City FC, Jason Kreis now has the helm of the U-23 for the USSF. This first video is of him discussing the roster he just set for the Olympic Qualifiers. These games to be played in Mexic from April 20- May 1, the initial game for the US will be against Costa Rica on 4/20 at 7p.m. ET. The last is of the team in training.
Fire Get Gutierez
The 16 year old out of their Academy since 2015, was the 16th Homegrown for the team, it is a 3 year deal with a Club option for 2024.
Fire HC, Raphael WIcky stated "Brian is a promising young player who we look forward to working with at the first team level. This signing is a testament to the hard work that Brian, his family and the Fire Academy staff have put in throughout the years."
Post game of the last minute GWG getter v Spain in the SBC, Julie Ertz
The USWNT is of course in a bit of a state of flux, if only due to there being a new coach. They did not look good v England in that they did not put away many chances. Here the game was played very evenly and it was a waning minutes goal off the head of Julie Ertz from a corner that was the difference maker. Good for them in having so strong of a field to go up against.
