The US hopes to play like its 2008 in Futsal

With my last team, it was known as FIFA 5 A Side and the US was a top team in the game, with many players from my Louisville Thunder '86-'87 and a Captain America out of Adelphi later in Mike Windischmann. Now it has been well over a decade since the US last qualified for the Futsal World Cup in 2008. Just who will make the roster?, that is to be determined as they attend Futsal WInter Week in Croatia. But first, Group D of the 2020 Concacaf Futsal Championship is set. May 1-10 in Guatemala with El Salvador with the next game TBD with Nicaragua or Puerto Rico.

Chicago Fire Get Gaston

From Argentina, Gaston Gimenez is in the Windy City as a DP having arrived via transfer from Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield, the holding mid will be one of their DP's. He has the rather standard 2 year deal with another as an option.

HC Raphael Wicky stated "We are thrilled to acquire a player with the quality of Gaston Gimenez. I am looking forward to welcoming him to Chicago."

Sporting KC 'Keeps a Teen

For $50,000 in GAM, Kansas City, who last year had Jhn Pulskamp on their USL team acquired his Homegrown Rights from the LA Galaxy. He now has a 3 year deal, the 3rd as an option in 2023 and he becomes the 2nd youngest backstop in team history. At 6'2" he already had a pair of years under his belt with the Galaxy Academy and their U-17 & 19's before arriving in the mid west and turning pro in the USL Championship League for SKCII. Earlier he had been with Real So Cal & Central California Aztecs.

Today the renewed club has gown their reach into the Spanish language market with a new area on the website and a new Twitter, @VamosFire. This allows them better abilities to reach fans world wide in Spanish. On the web find it at ChicagoFireFC.com/espanol, more aspects will be added to it as the year goes on.

Selected as such due to her wonderful sicktoitivness, example seting, and assiting people. Her prize is great, travel, seats  and unique BTS time as the USWNT take on Spain.

Tiiiiimmbbbeerr, 'Caps Fell an international spot from them

Putting GAM to use, Vancouver acquired another intenational spot, this one from Portland, bringing their total to 11 for the coming season, 9 of them are already filled.

Sporting Director Axel Schuster informed "We had an opportunity to acquiire an international spot and the timing was right. This trade gives us additional roster flexibility for the year"

Unstoppable U-20's

They scored early, just 9' in and often in the opening game of the Concacaf Women's U-20 Championship during their 9-0 win over a hapess Cuba team.  Next gen. athletes were front and center with Trinity Rodman daughter to Basketball's Dennis dishing out a trio of assists, a pair to Brianna Pinto, her father a stellar soccer player out of Brentwood and the 2019 US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year.

Vancouver Caps their preseason with a win

Lucas Cavallini has already found his form with goals in a quartet of games in a row, Fredy Montero, in as a sub shot the GWG in their come from behind win over Minnesota United in Portland. Today was the last in a trio of good games during the TImbers preseason tourney. The Loons struck first and early, just 7' in as Ethan Finlay sent a low crossing ball home.  That was about it for offensive firepower out of Minnesota as the 'Caps heated it up at just 10' with Cavallini then Ali Adnan putting their goes at goal on frame, each saved by Tyler Miller.

Fast Facts on U-20 USWNT HC Laura Harvey

These games are the initial experience with such qualifiers, but this is not her first rodeo by any means. She took a shield in the NSWL in 2014 with the Seattle Reign and again in 2015, each time they advanced to the title game as she was named NWSL Coach of the Year. Upon departing the league she was #2 overall in wins with a 72-52-38 record, going back to 2013.  She follows Jill Ellis in being the 2nd women to to go after her Pro Liscense from the USSF, of couse she has an A from both UEFA & the USSF.
