MLS Goes "All in Challenge"

Teams, owners & yes even the Soccer Don have joined in this effort to drum up economic support for charities giving support to those in need during this Coronavirus crisis. By bidding on the below, unique soccer events all proceeds will go to Feeding America, Meals on Whels America No Kid Hungry  & World Central Kitchen.  We  have dealt with Feeding America and know of Meals on Wheels very well, in the NY area they deliver to I know the elderly, possibly to others as well who may be shut in.

Their fixture with Chelsea on March 18 in the Champions League at Allianz Arena, marking its 120th anniversary was not to be, so now the commemorative items are to be turned into masks. This is part and parcel of helping the "WeKickCorona" effort by players Josuah Kimmich & Leon Goretzka. These protective masks for young and old alike have the masks going to the players venture as they distribute them to groups in need from food banks, and hosptials in need of medical equipment, homeless and also blood donations as there is now a massive shortfall.

'Caps Dive in to Save a Drowning Vancouver Aquarium

The venue and the team have teamed up in this time of Coronavirus crisis to fundraise for the Aquarium and sell protective masks, the proceeds of whish are to support what is describes as "one of the world's great aquatic animal care, resesarch & education sanctuaries".  It is being called a critical period fo need for the instiutution, and over 2 dozen 'Caps stafffers are giving of their own time to this objective, with hunderds of man hours in reaching out to those tied to this great civic landmark.

Who Partners with the Chicago Fire to fight Covid-19

Chicago and the nation alike are being beseiged by this virus and its spread, as they battle, the Fire have linked up with some groups also pulling their weight to push public health and assist in the flattening of the curve. From helping the health & safety of worker and customers, giving at-home service or philanthropic donations, this is how they are getting after the Coronavirus on behalf of the Windy City.

MLS Training Moratorium Goes Further into Extra Time

From the Chicago Fire, the new target date is May 15, it may however be pushed further into the future. League locales, are off limits to staff and other than those in need of treament, as per the team medical staff that may not be caried out at home. Athletes are to stay in the team's market, however the league does review on a per case basis requests to go elsewhere by car, considering the whole of the players desires.

The league stays in communication with the CDC & PHAC relative to this ever changing public health concern and give more information as it is known.

FCC Foundation is Driving the Team in the #MLSUnites Program

Highlighting the efforts of the team in the week's effort raising over $10,000 for West End families. The league wide initiative, #MLSUnites seeks out players and others to do good things locally, FCC has players involved with the Council on Aging in Southwestern OH as they put out essential goods, doing a video call with players from the West End Pride, a reading initative with the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and financial assitance to student meals in the West End as schools are now closed.

FCC Has Big Plans for Their Biggest Game

In an earlier post, we glossed over the re airing of the first home game against the Portland Timbers, they had played in a recent MLS CUp Final and had a great team looking to get back to that, yet they were shutout against this first year team before a sold out crowd of 32,250, well above what would be their season average of 27,336, great for 3rd in the league, amazing for a first year team in the league and beyond the capaciity of some stadiums including Red Bull Arena, perhaps the best SSS in the league.
