A local college player @ UNC, and he is now a pro having gotten the offer on the strength of his preseason play. HC Dave Sarachan informed "I knew about Alex when I first came on board. I knew he had a greeat career at UNC. He's ceetainly a great example of a guy who has put in the work." He had over 80 games while at UNC, playing a big role in their advancing to the College Cup in 2016 &'17. His senior season capped a great career as he was named a First Team All- American, ACC Defensive Player of the Year & ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Mar. 23 is the big day at Sahlem's Stadium at Wake Med Soccer Park as NWSL champs NC Courage take on the Orlando Pride with stars Marta & Alex Morgan as the men challenge Necaxa of Mexico. These games are brought to all by the Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint and tabbed as the "Friendship Cup" to show NCFC's dedication to creating deeper ties for the best men's & women's pro soccer clubs worldwide. Season ticket holders may get their seats in a 48 hour time span beginning Feb 20 @ 10a.m.

Now standing at 71 clubs and 342 teams, the academy system goes bigger in its efforts to impact everyday environments in producing world class players. Now with an U-16 level where Long Island Sc based out of Plainveiw will field a team sets this up to now with just shy of 7,000 players.

One of leagues most venerable teams were knotted up @ 84' with one yet to play an official MLS game. This preseason match was part of the Carolina Challenge Cup contested at MUSC Health Stadium. Unable to put away a number of opportunities in the opening stanza, just 8 minutes into the second they went up on a goal assisted by Nikolic scored by Katai. This was his 3rd in 4 preseason games as it came off a loss of possession deep in Cincinnati terrritory and the ball from Nemanja was played into space for him to put away.
