Last years' 2nd place team in the NWSL hosted local team Sky Blue beating them in added time 1-0. Jessica McDonald, a 2nd half addition for the victors found the back of the net as the undefeated Courage at 2-0-0 kept the NJ team winless on the year. Long Island legend and NC coach, Paul Riley stated "The game grinds on you. I think they worked hard." With a massive advantage in shots taken 22-3 the Courage were goaless as full time approached and passed even with many great chances.

Sean Melvin is now tied to the 'Caps with a homegrown contract for 2018 including options for '19, '20 & '21, once his transfer is fully aproved he will be on the MLS roster. Coach Carl Robinson stated, "Sean is another product of what we're trying to build with our development system. He approaches his craft with the right mentality and work ethic."  Looks good for the future of this goalkeeper in the Pacific northwest. For his part, Melvin informed, "I'm really excited to be back and to now sign with the first team.

The answer to this oft asked question is, sidelined due to a torn ACL in his right knee during the OCSC game. The defender will have surgery in the near future. The 20 year old out of the Red Bull Academy had come back to NY after two years in France with FC Valenciennes. Kyle had already gotten into all 4 MLS games, with his inital assist in the league as the team beat MInnesota 3-0 at RBA. Once the surgery is done they will have a time frame for him to rejoin the team.

Because of a NY Yankees game, the April 11 match for NYCFC telecast has been moved. For OPTIMUM all are on HD 205, other channels as well depening on where you are. DIRECTTV HD & SD 631-1, Cox HD 1149, SD 149 Fios HD 501, SD1 and finally RCN HD582, SD 371. The simple fix as I see it is to join me there as they take on RSL.

The very next Vanocuver Whitecaps home game is to be played as ever on April, 13, and yes it is a Friday, but now at 7p.m. This is a half hour or so earlier than originally set. Former Whitecap and all-time WFC MLS appearance leader, Jordan Harvey will be honored. This ceremony is to be done following the 6:14-6:39 team warm ups and the honor is to be presented by a "special presentor". It begins a total of 3 Friday night home games for the 'Caps and is the first ever meeting of the new LAFC and the home team.
