Now standing at  two dozen , the USMNT had a player go down with an abdominal strain that just won't go away, he will not be replaced.  Nothing of note came out of the press conference, next up is 8 p.m. tomorrow at MetLife with Brazil, if you cannot make it, look for me on FS1, if you want to see me in Spanish, no problema mira Univision y UDN. Then on Sept. 11 Mexico awaits the USMNT in Nashville this one on ESPN & Univision. Boa suerte y buena suerte to them.

The FIFA International Break is upon us with the Boys in Red leading the league & are the only team thus far to have assured themselves a spot in the 2018 Audi MLS Playoffs. All they need to do is go 2-7 over the rest of the season to achive a new win total, it is pretty much assured they will do so. Sun. Sept. 16 they travel down to Audi Field, the new home of DC United, we are fully expecting to go there as well.

Today the Vancouver MLS side went public with ther full-time, fully funded program which now has the moniker, Whitecaps FC Academy. They hope to keep on with developing young talent at their new Whitecaps FC National Soccer Development Center (NSDC) as they have since last year. In this time, 5 players have inked MLS deal with the team, graduate Alphonso Davies a 2018 MLS All-Star set the MLS transfer record to FC Bayern Munich.

Midfielders, Ben MInes & Vincent Bezecourt each had surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Vincent, on his right MCL and Ben his clavicle. SIgned in Aug, VIncent with with NYRBII, since call up had a goal facing NYCFC in the US Open Cup. Mines a Homegrown inked ahead of the season came up via the RBNY academy he made his MLS debut on Mar. 11. Both are out for the year.

Christen Press, a local product and being honored for her 100th cap gained a goal as well in this shutout victory. Stanford student athlete, Tierna Davidson headed home her first goal, off a corner ball and an own goal closed out the scoring. Stub Hub Center in Carson hosted 23,544 fans who got their first look at the first goal by the 19 year old Tierna in just her 11th game in the first 8 minutes.  Another corner was chested into the net of Chile by one of their players off a flick on by Julie Ertz.
