Thoughts on the day:

HC Torrent-My feeling right now is that we played very well in the first half.

Capt. Alex RIng-It feels good, I think we played a good game today. Philly is not an easy place to come and play, I think especially in the ffirst half we had a really good game.

Def Anton Tinnerholm-It's my first game for over 2 weeks now and it's was not 100%. So it's good to get back. I think I need it before the playoff game.

Sporting KC goes home as FC Dallas plays on with a dominant performance half a dozen goals to none.  This result extended the losing streak of the visitors to half a dozen. Dallas struck twice in the first half and then doubled that in the second for a very lopsided game to close out the season. KC was berefit a pair of players due to red cards in the game last Sunday with the Timbers. The lack of Roger Espinoza & Llie Sanchez was felt dearly. To make up for those they were missing, a quartet of Homegrown Players suited up to start, a first.

The widely successful ride is over, the top spot amongst all coaches of the team is secure, Jill Ellis goes out in a tie. 33,027 bore witness to this monumental end at Solider Field under great conditions, Carli Lloyd, the greatest of her players had the sole goal just 3 days before, as they downed this same Korean team in a shutout 2-0 win. The 34' saw a shot against the grain from Ji So-Yun just beyond the box and it was 1-0 but now just a wait a minute.

They were down early, in the rain, facing the apt named Torrent, but came back for the 2-1 win. We interviewed him this week, he had his first goal last night, congrats to Shavon John-Brown. Just 2  minutes into the 2nd stanza, off a headed corner from Darwin Espinal, Matt Lewis later beat former NY Cosmos 'keeper Kevin Tenjo for the win. So this week, 2 that we spoke to scored, could be good luck, who is up for the next interview or discussion? Just as the Cosmos were winnning so too were Detroit, 1-0 over Chatanooga, each keeping pace with the other.
