The Courage who have many Long Island ties are set to take on Houston, featuring St. John's Soccer Alum and a member of the Lionesses in Rachel Daly. With identical records of 1-0-1 they are both atop the standings. NC opened with a 1-1 game hosting the Red Stars then a massive result in a 5-0 drubbing of Orlando leaves them tied with the Thorns for most goals and alone in differential.

Headlining the 2nd iteration of these games will be NC Courage as the games are to be played at their home field of Sahlen's Stadium at Wake Med Park from Aug. 15-18. Both the final & semi are slated for the 18th. ICC & NWSL champs, NC Courage are to be challanged by top flite competition from Europe, Olympique Lyonnais last years runners up and 5X UEFA champs, will face Atleitico Madrid the 2017/18 Primera Division winner as FA Women's Super League titleists Machester City meet the home team. This year there will be a monetary prize for the winners.

Back home on Sat at 7 p.m., NCFC will defend their fort at Sahlen's Stadium Soccer Park, the game is Kicks 4 Kids Night with PNC as presenting partner in the game. A win affords the home team the chance to gain a spot near the top of the table, now in 5th a win would vault them into as high as 2nd with a game in hand. Last week was a 3-0 win at the Charlotte Independence as de Luz, Lomis & Speas found the back of the net. This 6th straight win over them helped them improve their confidence as prior to this they were winless over 3 games.

Italian Legend, Andrea Pirlo returns to Yankee Stadium where he had patrolled the midfield with the UEA Champions League Trophy Tour and their stop at Yankee Stadium for the NYCFC game Saturday. He wil be there well before the 1 p.m. kickoff where he had 61 games with the team as he played a key role in guiding them to the playoffs in 2016 & 2017. He won this cup twice to go along with his 2006 FIFA World Cup title and will be the honorary captain while he participates in the coin toss.

Just ahead of their NSPL season opener at 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Mithel Park with NYAC, the Boys in Green say goodbye to Memphis 901 FC bound Jochen Graf and ink academy product Brian Moya, in following club policy, terms were not revealed. Graf came on board in Jan. of 2019 and Moya had been with Ecuador side, LDU Quito. Sr. VP Joe Barrone informed, "Adding Bryan continues to show our commitment to having players from the local area on our roster. He has worked hard this preseason and we are happy to have him back within the club."
