The Courage who have many Long Island ties are set to take on Houston, featuring St. John's Soccer Alum and a member of the Lionesses in Rachel Daly. With identical records of 1-0-1 they are both atop the standings. NC opened with a 1-1 game hosting the Red Stars then a massive result in a 5-0 drubbing of Orlando leaves them tied with the Thorns for most goals and alone in differential. Rockville Centre product Crystal Dunn hit for a brace and her fellow USWNT member, Jessica McDonald hit for one goal, this has Dunn tied with Canadian WNT stalwart Christine Sinclair with 3 goals, each with a pair of games. For their part, Houston was here last weekend as USWNT pool member Sophia Huerta was the goal getter with her shot going in off a Sky Blue player. Last time up it was that familar 5-0 with Dunn, McDonald and others lighting it up and Lynn Williams had a pair. It will be a family affair as NC's Samantha Mewis may face her sister on the Dash now back from an ACL injury, Kristie. Who to watch, of course Long Islander Dunn & McDonald while for the Dash, along with the always dangeous Daly, Nichelle Price is having a great early season. We wish the best to the Courage HC and friend, Paul Riley as well as asst. coach at Houston former Mexican international Monica Gonzalez who was up here on the island for a fundraiser last summer.
