NCFC, coached by the interm USMNT coach, David Sarachan had already matched up wth 15 MLS teams about half an MLS season, in this one of the oldest soccer competitions in the nation, they were not up to the task as they dropped this one 4-0 at St. John's Universitys' Belson Stadium. They had a great chance early as a short corner played into Steven Miller put NYCFC GK Brad Stuver to the test. After that, the result was never in doubt despite the many new pieces on the field for NYCFC then began to gel far better.

NY media mogul Rocco B Commisso now has his new team in this most prestigous summer tourney replacing rival Roma, who had to withdraw due to  UEFA Europa League Qualifier commitments. The games for Fiorentina will be July 16 V Chivas at SeatGeek Stadium, IL, then on to Arsenal July 20 in NC at Bank of America Stadium, then closing it out July 24 v Benfica in Red Bull Arena, so close to the home of both his company Mediacom and his family, a thrill I am sure for Rocco.

The c's ceretainly have it in this headline as there is a USL team set to play in NYC. For half a dozen games, NCFC has not lost, NYCFC also had been on a run of no losses as well, I am so not hoping for a tie. This 4th round game starts at 7 in Belson Stadium, I am hoping to see Danny Bedoya play at his previous home field. Ex USMNT head Dave Sarachan has his charges in 6th place of the USL East conf. having just handed the undefeated Rowdies their inital loss of the season, 3-1 this past weekend.

The young player for RB Lepzieg is out with acute on chronic groin issues with a 6-8 week recovery timetable. Reggie Cannon of FC Dallas has been called in to fill the space left behind. He is expected in Minneapolis as the team resumes training for the June 18 game with Guyana and its Allianz FIeld which had a record set for fastest sell out in tourney history. See the game at 10 p.m. ET on FS1, UniMas & UDN. Due to injury you may remove a player within 24 hours of the first game and replaced by one off the 40 member provisional roster due May 16 to the federation.
