In describing the history of soccer in the Windy CIty , they do cite the Sting as part of the history, the start of it is inferred. In the NPSL, the league the NASL would grow out of, hosted a pair of teams there, the Spurs who moved to KC with the advent of the NASL and the Mustangs. Both were founding members of the NPSL, having nothing to do with the indoor or current league.

The Spurs featured US Soccer legend Willy Roy & Mike Grbic and others, Roy being a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

An email giving details on the last few games of the USMNT as they prepare for the World Cup had an interesting error. Unless this is a moniker I am unaware that they go by, the German MNT was referred to by the term Germ, though I did just make a rhyme, it seems rather unattractive & highly insultive to me. How such a term could make it to a press release, much less then be put out for consumption baffles me. Yes it is wholly possible I am unaware it is in fact a term used to describe them, I still would not ever use it. Just another day of soccer in the USA.
