Saturday 7 p.m. Red Bulls host the Revolution

By Sean McCaffery, August 15, 2019

A loss this weekend would hurt a lot, as not only would it not have the home team get any points but it would allow the surging Revs to catch them rather than have a full 6 points between them from a victory. This conference game will begin with coverages on MSG, MSG Go & New York Red Bulls Radio on  TuneIn. This is their 74th meet, wow, and the Revs are on top 31-27-15, RBNY is now on a 9-0-1 tear looking to bring the wins into double digits and enhance their playoff standing. Over those same 10 games, the goals are an astounding 22-7, more than 3x over their opponents.

Jill Ellis to Step Down as HC of the USWNT Come October

By Sean McCaffery, August 1, 2019

All she did was win-win-win as her 102-7-18 record reflects, but she was one of the more embattled coaches in the history of the program. Yes she did tinker with the lineups a lot but in the end the results speak for themselves. In just over 5 years she has the most games coached for the best team on the planet, following the Victory Tour, she will no longer be at the helm but will still be involved. She is not up for the new GM position that is being created, that selection is due now, but Ellis will now be an Ambassador for the program.

Tatu e Eu

By Sean McCaffery, July 31, 2019

Possibly the most exciting player in MISL history, Tatu and I had a bit of a chat and it covered todo mundo de futbol. If he was playing today, he would be cautioned every what, 2 out of 3 games, ejected at least once a month or so and suspended more than any other player in the history of the game for his tossing a shirt into the crowd following each goal. In that they never faced my NY Arrows, I am able to fully claim being a fan with no hesitation.

Red Bulls 1 up Orlando

By Sean McCaffery, July 22, 2019

At 1-0, another shutout by Luis Robles with the 7th goal from Brian White at 32' got the visitors the win yesterday. This was the last of a trio of games in 8 days, leaving the team in the thick of things for the playoffs with 34 points from their 10-8-4 record. In those 8 days and 3 games, 6 of 9 points were secured, those 3 were lost in a poorly played game with Toronto and all goals in the Hudson River Derby had calls to thank for them, not encouraging for the higher level of play expected in the playoffs.
