US Takes SBC Cup, 3-1 over Japan

By Sean McCaffery, March 12, 2020

There was a lot of talk during & after the World Cup, also coming into this Cup, of Spain, I saw one set of games live in RBA, Japan was the suprise of the tourney, tight control of the ball, getting forward well, pushing England to the brink. England played the US well but Spain played them better yet, Japan however was the only one to make a mark on the scoreline facing the World Cup winners. The US now has 3 SBC titles, this one playd before just over 19k fans, at RBA it was over 26,000.

By Sean McCaffery, March 11, 2020

Added to ballots are a quartet of retirees, and 5 builders, voting on the 2020 class begins March 18. Those added have in fact met the qualifying criteria.

New Veteran Players: Frank Klopas, Taylor Twellman, Marco Etchevery Steve Zungul. Interesting no mention is made of his time with the MISL NY Arrows, my first team or his many times named to an all league team there. Twellman joined the family business as a pro soccer player after his father and uncle.

We had prevously gone over the criteria to be nominated as a Veteran and Builder, we will not touch on them here.
