They opened the season in the balmy confines of Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson CA, struck first but were bested by the Galaxy 2-1 as Zlatan hit the winner in off a rebound before 25,866 fans.

Coach had this to say of Frankowski: "He was fantastic. I think the same as the whole team until we conceded the first goal. I think the performance of the team, the plan worked perfectly. We controlled the game, created bunch of opportunities, clear opportunities."

Coming out of the gate strong, an Ebenezer Ofori goal assisted by USMNT standout Jonathan Lewis at 13' and closing out the opening half of the year in similar fashion, Alex RIng assisted by newcomer Alexandru Mitrita for his first of what I am sure will be many MLS points at the 45' mark.

Fordham grad Matt Lewis, after a year in USL having signed with MLS team Sporting KC then off to their USL team, Swope Park Rangers. Matt stated, "I'm stoked to be a part of the historic New York Cosmos. I feel I have a lot to prove. I would like to thank Joe Barone, Carlos Mendes, I plan to be a part of a championship." While with Swope Park, he had 12 regular season games. At Fordham he had 84 games with 5 goals and assists.

Canadian netminder Darrin MacLeod is now in the fold under ex USMNT HC Dave Sarachan. He had been with the team getting minutes in all 3 preseason games and now awaits league and federation approval. Sarachan had this to say of the 26 year old "I'm vey pleased to add Darin to our roster."  A pair of years with Swope Park Rangers in KC set him for this although he was for the most part the 2nd goalkeeper, he still had 10 games and 93 minutes from 2017-'18, bright spots included a pair of shutouts and a win in the 2017 USL Cup Playoffs. He had a 4 year college career at Drake U.

For its 2nd successful all day run, the game is back at 30 Rock. Over 700 are expected to join in the games, outside in NYC and some will be coached by Head Coach Domenec Torrent  and players in the heart of NYC at this landmark. Last year was amazing in one day all teams were filled, 714 players, over 500,000 dropped in, the goal tally was 415-382. In advance of the 2019 home opener Mar. 10 facing DC United there will be 2 teams, Team Ring, headed by the captain Alex Ring facing Team Maxi, fan fav. and 2018 MVP Maxi Morales will be their skipper. It all kicks off Mar. 8 @ 4 p.m.
