Not a surprise as the team did well in the last few games following her being named as interim HC in Sept., Freya Coomb is now at the helm of the local NWSL team, now to play at Red Bull Arena. Before her appointment, she had been the Dir. of Scouting and Develpment Academy Coach with NY Soccer Club.

SBFC Owner Rep. and spouse to the NJ Gov., Tammy Murphy informed, "Freya is extremely talented and her passion for soccer is infectious. Freya's undeniable work ethic made our decision easy. She earned the trust and respect of out players quickly."

Just a couple of local players have been selected to this high honor, both went to play out of state, one with the #1 team in the tourney, the other with the #2, both play at least one game this weekend, both may play a pair.

Dylan Nealis of Massapequa, it is a year for 2's for the player out of Massapequa, he is a 2 time Big East Defensive Player of the Year, a 2 time 1st team All Region Player for United Soccer Coaches as his team the Georgetown Hoyas are ranked #2 and one of the final 3 in the running for the MAC Herman Trophy.

US Soccer has stated that "for his excellence at the highest level of the sport", I must beat the dead of horse of the whole of the USMNT not getting to the highest level, this past World Cup. Two years removed from his last nod for this massive honor, the first of which had him the youngest to be so rewarded for a year well done besting Landon Donovan by about 150 days. One of just 25 different players to be awarded this since Ricky Davis in 1984.

The final for this level is today, I am surprised given the successof some local programs, more players from them are not listed? In total 72 players, 35 men 37 women have been honored here, UCLA-SD player Naralie Saddic had been tabbed for the 3rd as overall 11 now have their 2nd nods. All will be honored Jan. 18 at the USC Convention during their All-Ameriacan Ceremony & Receptiion, Sat. Jan. 18.

Over 4 years in the NCAA, over 100 (101) games and a pair of FIFA U-20 World Cups, now her shot at the big time, USWNT for defender Kaleigh Riehl. Her first World Cup in 2014, she was a reservist, however the next in 2016 as they team ascended to the semis, she was a main player in New Guinea. Now it is off to Bradenton at the behest of USWNT HC Vlatko Andonovski. Kaleigh also has time with the U-23's, her call up brings the number to 24 once more.
