I am admittingly very bad on the PC. I sought to see how this website ranks. A place that ranks them wrote we do not rank, due to being too localized. I then checked just for this month out of all stories, how they broke down, local, national and international. As a for instance, a local pro team counted as 2 as would a local being named to a national team here being national and to another nation, international. This hardly bore out what they claimed. Local stories accounted for 37 postings, National ones totalled 61 items while international tallied 25 such mentions.
readSunday, I get a text from a person I know who does training, no idea on their credentials, but a good player. Not sure if we were in contact since late 2023. He has a young lady looking for a women's team. I need to ask age and location, I am told she is playing at a local school, but seeks a club or something long term. I ask the level getting told D2+, whatever that means, I ask if that is NCAA, it is. I ask for her schedule and video, informed she started yesterday, and when avail, will send me her schedule and notify me, it has been out for quite sometime already.
readJohn Diffley, now the Deputy Athletics Dir. & COO at St. John's University is a past teammate of Nuttall with both having been on the aforementioned Long Island Rough Riders team that took the national title in 1995, the year before MLS. Diffley had this to say.
"Richie is an amazing person-a great coach, teammate and friend. His record as Hofstra's coach is outstanding: championships, great teams and outstanding players. But even more than that, Richie is a great person! I've been lucky to know him as a friend, and his positive impact on so many lives is immeasurable."
readRivals for decades with a lot of respect between the pair, here is what St. John's University Men's Soccer Head Coach and Asst. Athletic Dir. had to say.
"Coach Nuttall has been a dominating coach and personality in soccer, first as a player and for 37 years has had Hofstra, as one of the more dominating Division 1 programs in the country. He has won so many championships and had numerous NCAA tournament appearances...I'm sure he will have another successful season and do great things in the whatever he pursues in the future!!
