New faces all over the field, same result as the last game, a 1-0 victory, the big difference here is NYRB now is all alone atop the MLS, if the season were to end today, they would be the Supporters Shield winners yet again. WIth just 7 games left, and in a stretch of over 2 weeks long with a game every 3 days, did they ever deliver. It is sad that almost 10,000 seats remained empty on a late sumer night game. With the rest of the home games being on weekends I hope that tide is turned.

New York Red Bulls extended its unbeaten streak to five league matches after posting a 1:0 victory against visiting D.C. United on Sunday evening at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

D.C. had the first chance to open the scoring in the eighth-minute mark with a dangerous free kick outside NY’s 18-yard box.  English World Cup forward Wayne Rooney took the visitors’ shot, however U.S. international goalkeeper Luis Robles made one-hand diving save for the Red Bulls.
