Mt. Vernon, N.Y., April 24, 2025--A host of surprises, fun activities, food offerings and special events are planned for this Sunday at The Stadium at Memorial Field as Westchester SC will play their first Jägermeister Cup match against USL Champion side Rhode Island FC. It will be the first overall USL home matchup for the club in their inaugural season, before their first USL League One home match against Charlotte Independence on May 10. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m., with gates opening ninety minutes prior to kickoff. The match will be seen live on MSG Networks with Sam Goldfarb calling the action.
Amongst the opening afternoon festivities will be presenting partner and official healthcare partner Northwell Health distributing thunder sticks and cow bells for fans, while SCORE PT, WSC’s recovery partner, will be giving out coupons for free cryo therapy sessions as part of their efforts to promote recovery and wellness for both WSC and the entire local community.
WSC will have a host of local food offerings for each home match with Scotty's Egg Rolls, Taco Project, Graziella’s/Westchester Burger, Wrapper’s Delight, Mt. Vernon Concessions, Yonkers Brewing Co. and 18th Ward all on site for the home opener.
Local youth club Just Play Soccer will be doing the Team Walkouts with the players, while the Irvington Marching Band will be performing as fans enter the stadium. Fans will also be entertained by the WSC supporters’ group, the 914 Infantry, throughout

WSC is coming off a 4-4 draw against the Richmond Kickers last Saturday in Richmond in USL League One play with Noah Powder being named USL League One Player of the Week. The Trinidad and Tobago international, Edison, N.J. native and two-time USL Championship title-winner exploded for the second three-goal-contribution match of his decade-long professional career, scoring Westchester's opening goal in the eighth minute before providing assists on second-half goals from his brother, Samory, as well as Conor McGlynn.
This is the second year of the Jägermeister Cup competition, which last year was limited to USL League One teams and won by the Northern Colorado Hailstorm. This year, all professional teams in USL will take part, bringing the total number of entrants to 38 teams who will try to claim the title in the season long tournament.
