Wednesday the Atlantic Cup Contested at a new Venue

By Sean McCaffery, July 24, 2018

A game we had marked on our calendars to attend as soon as the MLS schedule was released, we will not be attending but rather will be in Philly for Bayern Munich and Juventes. The new Audi Field, with many green features as we had brought to you months ago will host the NYRB for the first time. Beginning at 8p.m. on MSG it will also be avail on MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio. DC leads this hotly contested series, last time too hot as a fire broke out during the United's last game at RFK, 34-27-13. As ever, the 7:30 start with Honda Red Bulls Game Night with Matt Harmon & Steve Jolley, followed by Shep Messing & Steve Cangialosi with MIchelle Gingras bringing you the game as does Ernesto Motta en Espanol. The actual Atlantic Cup is being fought for the 17th time and DC taking it home 10 times, but of the 6 NY has been victorious in includes 5 of the last 8.

With his lone save facing the Revs, Luis Robles moved one blank sheet from  the top 10 in MLS history  and is going in with 6 shutouts facing DC, his highest of all opponents. Bradley Wright -Phillips, I am sure would not mind sharing the spotlight with his captain as he needs one goal for the centruy mark, a brace would give him 5 consecutive years of 15 or more goals in a year, a league first.
