We are now in Contract with a 3/4+Acre Parcel for a Soccer Park

By Sean McCaffery, October 24, 2019

The reason why we have been not so current with articles & photos besides my issues with tech things has been this. It has been a very time consuming process over the last few months trying to put this together. The project is expected to close in the early spring with the hopes of getting some of it up and running by summer as it will be done in sections. Roughly 110(widest) x 800, the 3/4 acres of land will be used for training and small sided games, ages up to U-8 use fields that would fit within the footprint. The goal is to have the players registered in the town not to pay to train. Rentals for private training sessions, outside tourneys, leagues, special events, etc. will of course be charged a fee. With "Pay to Play" both attracting so much attention and being very costly, this hopes to turn the tide against it. Now the local youth will have a place to play, organized, league soccer and train at no cost.

Given my background in being a Real Estate Professional since 1989, involvment in all levels of the game since 1982 with 3 pro teams, a degree in Sports Management, a C USSF Licenscee, officiated 1,000's of games, and after a 20+ year career with the NYPD, the hope is to offer a quality experience in the safest of enviroments. Private lessons by myself and others through the facility, summer camps, holiday camps and special events will set this apart from other facilities, as only licensed people will be instructing players, at times alongside current and former high level players. My drive in doing this is to allow those who might be priced out, or not having the space to play to now have a home. Natural grass will be the only surace to play on, for a myriad of reasons, so the playing season will be a bit limited. Only natural products will be used in this smoke and alcohol free environment. Until closing the locale will not be divulged, it is in Suffolk 5 miles to the Long Island Expressway. We are so hoping this goes faster than both NYCFC and the David Beckham projects. More information to follow on the progress and grand opening events as they develop.
