Vlatko Votes in his Initial Roster

Introduced to the public some 2 days after his acutal appointment the new HC of the USWNT has his games in just 8 days and now has 2 dozen coming into camp in advance of this first game Nov. 7 v Sweden in Maprfee Stadium in Columbus, then just 3 days later in Jacksonville with Sweden. Coming back are 17 playerrs from the 2019 World Cup winning team, 5 are out 4 due to injury including, Crystal Dunn of Rockville Centre, Kelley O'Hara, Ali Kreiger & Tierna Davidson, out due to her recently announced pregnancy is Alex Morgan. There are a few first time invitees, GK Aubrey Bledsoe, Def. Alana Cook & Def. Imani Dorsey. Coach informed "This first camp is short with two good games at the end, so after just being hired offiaially a few days ago, I personally don't have a lot of time to prepare for the camp or implement any major changes. It was a tremendous summer for this team, but now the approach is diffferent."  The trio of new players each have time with the USWNT U-23's but no senior team time. Back in camp are Casy Short who had a busy weekend facing the NSWL champs NC Courage & Andi Sullivan, they were included on the roster for the last game of the Victory Tour. Joing them are Lynn Williams who gave Short's Red Stars fits and Margaret Purce. Lynne has 19 caps and a quartet of goals for the US and Purce is uncapped not having been in camp since 2018. Vlatko stated "First, I want to make sure that everyone on the World Cup team has an opportuinty to work with me and give me an opportunity to see them see what stage of their game they're in right now".  Those injured players will attend camp the first few days to greet and work with Coach then off again to keep up with their rehab. The local players include Imani Dorsey of Sky Blue, Allie Long of Northport, Tobin Heath of NJ , fellow NJ native, Carli Lloyd of Sky Blue.

Kwik Kixx:

-USWNT 2019 record stands at 18-1-3, that 1 loss was early in the year with France, avenged of course at this summer's World Cup in France.

-Rose Lavelle plays in her home state of Ohio on the 7th.

-Morgan Brian played her youth soccer in Jacksonville the locale for the 10th with Ponte Vedra Soccer Club , now named United Soccer Alliance.

-4 players come from the Paul Riley coached NWSL champs, Samantha Mewis, Abby Dahlkemper, Jessica McDonald & WIlliams. Mewis & McDonald scored in the title game.

-Sweden is now #5 and meet the US scant months after losing to them 2-0 on a goal by Lindsey Horan and a Tobin Heath created own goal.

-Sweden is in the qualifying stages for 2012 UEFA Women's Euro to be held in England and thus far have 16 goals for and 1 against over 3 games.

-The opponent in FL is Costa Rica, the US is 14-0 facing the Ticas, 9 have come in Concacaf qualifiers, and the 38th ranked team lost to the US this summer.

- Columbus has been good to the US with 8 games even a World Cup 3-0 win over North Korea in the 2003 World Cup.

-1996 marked the first game in Jacksonville, this is the 4th game at TIAA Bank Stadium, most recently beating Mexico 4-0 in April of 2019.

-Jacksonville will host the last game in the 35th year of this storied program.
