USWNT set to Close out 2019 with a Pair of Games in Nov.

The reigning World Cup Champion USWNT has 2 to go on the year, with high hopes to go out on a high note with a final pair of wins. Sweden will take on the champs, Nov. 7 @ MAPRE Stadium in Columbus OH then on the 10th, the last victim will be Costa RIca in Jacksonville FL. The last 2 Victory Tour games are of course facing Korea in Charlotte NC on Oct. 3 then again in Chicago on the 6th. For the year, the title holders are a heady 15-1-2, dropping their only game to France, the first game of the year. They ride a 14 game win streak  including their running of the table for the FIFA title in France this sumer. Thurs. Sept. 26 has the Sweden seats go on sale, while the Ticas game are offered up on Oct. 2, both at 10 a.m. ET as groups of 20 or more may go direct to ussoccer.com. The Swedes, big historical rivals are now 6th in the world based upon a great 3rd place in this most recent World Cup, and is a rematch after less than 5 months following the US win in the Final of their Group F in Reims, the US took that one 2-0 on the strength of goals by Lindsey Horan and an own goal. Sweden has not been inactive as they last beat Latvia 4-1 in the group stages for the 2021 UEFA Women's Euro, haappening in England. Over 14 encounters, the US has prevailed over Costa Rica 14 times, 9 in Concacaf Qualifiers. Each of the quartet of Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Tournaments has seen these 2 match up as well, and makes it rather certain they meet yet again in it early 202o in the same tourney.

-The USWNT has a rich past in Columbus, in the first Soccer Specific Stadium in the MLS. Following the 99'ers triumph and 8 games overall, most importantly, the 2003 World Cup in taking on North      Korea for the 3-0 win.

-Jacksonville has also been kind to the USWNT, since 1997, although this is just the 4th game contested at TIAA Bank Stadium, last visit was a 4-0 victory against Mexico in April of 2018.

-Jacksonville will be the ending of the 35th year of international for the USWNT.
