USWNT 4-0 Mexico

By Sean McCaffery, February 8, 2020

Now they are in for Tokyo, but do have the final tomorrow at 6p.m. ET on FS2 & Galavision facing Canada who overcame Mexico 1-0. What lineup is to be used, only one player has not seen the field in this tourney, do the next level of players get much time, a good look in a game I am sure Canada will be looking to win. Rose Lavelle had the first goal (video on the Facebook of Soccer Long Island Magazine), Mewis hit 2x, one an absolute bomb into the far corner, and Press followed her own rebound and chipped the 'keeper. Seen live by 11,292, they are good to go to Tokyo for the Olympics July 22- Aug. 7. They ran the table in their Group A, 3-0-0 to go with a +18 goal differential. The shots on goal #'s were lopsided at 26-6, 11-1 on target to go with a 60% possession rate. Just 5' in Rose Lavelle proved to be a thorn in the side of El Tri as the US kept up at getting early goals. Next up Mewis with a ball from just beyond the goal box off a corner. Mewis then hit her long range missle off her own free kick, then Press tallied in her 6th straigh game at 68'. For their part, Mexico never gave up, they I felt game the US their best game, constant pressure, high energy but just did not match the US in ability.
