USSF Appeals for Donations

U.S. Soccer
Hi sean,
It’s almost here!
The U.S. Women’s National Team kicks off its World Cup campaign THIS Friday at 9:00pm ET if you’re watching from home.
We are writing in shared excitement, and with many voices… as athletes, advocates, former USWNT players, Women’s World Cup Champions, Olympians, and a current Extended National Team member.
We have different stories, but we all have one thing in common: we are women who believe in the power of soccer to change lives and inspire the next generation.
Today, we also serve on the U.S. Soccer Board of Directors together. In this role, we see firsthand the breadth and impact of U.S. Soccer, a 501(c)3 nonprofit – particularly for girls and women… from 13 female National Team programs, to women’s coaching & mentorships, to the SheBelieves movement, to leading the world in gender equality and equal pay, and more.
We can’t do this without you.
In honor of the USWNT competing in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, would you take a moment to donate $23 to the U.S. Soccer National Women’s Network?
Your gift will support Federation programs for girls and women in the game, and the team you love.
This is how we create change and build the future – even a small gift will make a difference. Thank you for helping others experience the joy, opportunity, and impact of soccer in America.
Now, let’s go USA!
Sincerely,
Whitney Egan, Cassidy Leake, Lori Lindsey and Danielle Slaton
U.S. Soccer Board Members, and current & former athletes representing the United States
P.S. We loved our soccer experiences and are so proud to continue working to grow the sport. Join us by donating now!
I am acquainted with one of those named in the above email I received today. Does Tone Deaf mean anything, years and millions on lawsuits brought by WOSO, for equal pay, I am sure more to come due to the crimes committed against women under the USSF umbrella, where their top people were unwilling to intervene. Now the Federation seeks $?
Following the last WWC, I was reached out to by a lawyer, he told me he happened to be surfing the FIFA site shortly after it and made a disturbing discovery. FIFA sent money to all nations involved, the more you advanced, the more your team would get on the behalf of their players. Those dollars were to be passed down the line to the players youth clubs. It was not really done much until he got involved. One local club was due $500.
The thing with that is as this charity they described above goes, you must do what is asked when you receive items. So, if I give a video camera to be used for training and it gets sold, no good. Case in point Hofstra, a local University, dropped a highly successful Football program, a past NY Jets HC was their's now. Those who donated I understand asked for and were held off a bit on recovering monies they sought back as there was no more program.
Maybe have better stock, more than a few men have lamented to me that they were unable to get USWNT shirts, cut for men?
Ah, yes SheBelieves. A few years ago I reached out to get the person in charge of the NYPD Police Academy, a women to attend, they did not see they did not see any value in that? I tried to get other women of an international level on and off the field into it, they got in I declined for them to be in, one was declined but was able to get in through another route.
Support with additional funds beyond buying gear, going to games, hard pass.
Oh, yes, when did we start to spell first names with the first letter in lower case?
What exactly is the U.S. Soccer National Women's Network? I predate the USWNT and had not heard of this until now? A google search on the founding of this, like on the USSF site showed nothing, I found a post in a search, but it gave no date as to the founding via google. I called a number, turned out to be a private cell for a person at USSF, she would not give me another number, referring me to the Chief of Communications, not the person. I spoke to one person who has been in soccer well longer than I and another at least 30 years especially attentive to WOSO, they had not heard of this by name.
Do I suspect anyone of wrong doing. cannot say, of being opaque, yes.
