USSDA Suspends Ops Through the end of April

By Sean McCaffery, March 12, 2020

Spring Cup is canceled for all states due to the Corona Virus. Both the Boy's & Girl's regular season and the Cup are canceled. The Cup was to be held April 29-May 4 in KC & Greensboro due to the Virus, this and the regular games were shut down to reduce possible exposures to the virus and protect all involved.

The Federation has been keeping their eyes peeled on any and all new information emerging from this as they stay in touch with the CDC on the Corona Virus here and abroad. Teams are asked to follow the leads of the local health departments prior to doing anything relative to training and various team events with the health of all being paramount.

US Soccer Chief Medical Officer George Chiampas informed "With the health of our players, coaches, staff and fans as our main priority, US Soccer has decided it was in the best interests to cancel the Spring Cup events in Kanasa City and Greensboro as well as suspend all regular season DA matches through April due to the outbreak of COVID-19, "We have been in communication with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local departments of public health, and after those conversations and continuously monitoring the situation, we strongly believe this is the best decision considering the ongoing worldwide health situation." Interesting is that this is all but an identical quote from another statement realtive to US Soccer from George.

Many other USSF events have been effected by this health concern, please consult both ussoccer, com and their social media platorms
