USMNT 4-0 Cuba

As expected, the US won, I would have expected more goals or many more subs. Sargent took a good kick early that had him hobbling for a bit and is sure to be stiff right now, I would have pulled him right then. Imagine he gets hurt and stayed on yet was not good for his club team, those would then be less inclined to release their players. Get a good lead, bring in the next level players to get a look at them and not put them at risk once it has been assured that you will move onto the knockout round. A tiny crowd, expected due to being a nuetral site and the lack of quality out of the US of late as the Cubans are not able to get to the games. That begged the question from the announcers as to how the teams would motivate themselves, one played at this level, would he have even answered that question if put to him then? You are out there to rep your nation, you should need no further motivation, must win to get to the next round in the tourney would the crowd have to pump you up by then, you dropped a game to Canada the first time during the lifetime of any of you on the field, yet what about the crowd? For anyone to leave these games with a good feeling would be a travesty, a better one than following the first Canada yes, but good not a chance. Now some of the MLS players have a bit of time to rest and recover, Morris here following a great season and Title in MLS I am sure is looking forward to a break despite his tremendous form of late. Morris had a brace, one was his score, the other was a theft from NYRB player who would have had his 2nd in a row from the back line, Aaron Long. One player Lovitz, was actually moved by his club team just prior to the game starting, I do wonder if he was aware. The field was not in the best of conditions but had hosted a game just days before, a sad indictment on that was Twellman stating that as far as Concacaf fields go, it was in good condition, and yes that is true. This game would see another quick goal as at just :34, Sargent put one in, he would later get a brace of his own, his first multiple goal game for his nation, to close out the scoring and the US had another shutout.
