The quality quartet of the week as selected by United Soccer Coaches are, Callum Johnson of Clemson, Grace Yochum of Oklahoma St., Atoine Recizac of Mississippi Coll, & Bailey Hern of Valdosta St.
Proof positive of how small the Soccer World is, the first division player on the men's side is a NY native. Out of the NYRB Academy, Callum now out BC & with the Tigers, is coached by a member of the Louisville Thunder, the last pro team I worked for in Mike Noonan. The redshirt senior lead his team over Syracuse, always great to see the Orange lose, how is this for a great ratio, 3 shots 2 goals in just 75' during his 3rd start of the year.
Grace for her part hit for a dramatic 98" Golden Goal facing #17 St. Louis, the St. Louis native did this by way of a pk, her team's 2nd win over a ranked team, the other was at home. With this, her 6th goal on the year, she is tied for most goals in her conference.
D II was equally impressive as the one foreign player out of the 4. Recizac had a brace at 25' & 33" to go with an assist on the first goal in the 3-1 win as his Choctaws took down Union out of TN. Soph. Hern, of FL had her fist scores for her Blazers, not quite the heady ratio of Callum, she had a pair of goals on a team tops 8 shots, still a great ration. This all came abut in a barn burning come from behind 4-3 win over Auburn Montgomery.
